Only 2 points away, of course downvoted by some juries who just wanted Montenegro and San Marino to qualify for the first time. She was in the Top 10 of the televote and also would have qualified with the new voting system. She was also one of my favorites, along with Conchita, Ruth, Molly and Emma. And I preferred her song over most songs in the finale.

+Joana Arantes I used to be one of those ashamed portuguese. I clearly remember hating this song back in 2014. Now, however, I'm not living in Portugal anymore and this kind of music ("pimba") transports me all the way back there. It is not my favourite kind of music but it is the one that most reminds me of Portugal. I remember those traditional festivals in the villages, dancing to this kind of music with a glass of wine in my hand and a "bifana" in the other one. And that's a big part of Portugal.

I remember when this song was first selected and a large proportion of the fan community was in tears that Catarina Pereira would not represent Portugal. I was one of them. But in the end, quero ser tua was one of my favourite songs of the 2014 contest and I'm glad Portugal selected Suzy. High in the televote, it was the jury that kept Portugal out of the final!

I think this was the only song that the audience kept clapping and cheering from right the beginning until the very end! If you didn't notice listen carefully; the audience even changes the rhythm of clapping during the refrain. Not even the English songs managed to get that much empathy from the public. Actually Suzy's stole the ESC position from other favourites songs and better performances! It even run a petition to replace her! In the voting, she was the less favourite and won with astonished 41% followed by 21% in second(the favourite) and 19% the second favourite! Just for you to know

I couldn't say this song is the best song that I've listened to in the competition this year, but the song and her live performance is good enough to get into the finals. It has cheerful and exotic rhythm representing deep passion and energy of Latin peoples for music and dancing, which makes everybody, even if you can't understand a single word of Portuguese, dance and feel exhilarated. A song that makes people smile and happy is a good song, I think. In addition, she's the prettiest of the female contestants. I heard that she worked really hard for the contest. It's a shame that I can't see her any more. I don't think I'm the only person who think like this way.

This should have been in the finals. I can't believe it didn't make it. And the audience seems to like it as well. I so hope Portugal will win Eurovision soon. Love from the Philippines! :)

Portugal came 11th place in semi final 1 and they lost with only 1 point against San Marino.

San Marino deserved actually, Valentina deserved to be in the final. But Suzy deserved too. 2014 was a hard year.

I only watch the Eurovision for fun now. I can't even take it seriously. No matter what song Portugal puts in the Eurovision will even get the final. It's about Geopolitics and Portugal is right on the corner and the only country that they can be helped is Spain. The Baltic countries help themselves and north helps the north. I could see already the Netherlands and Sweden winning.. No surprise there. I think countries like Portugal should just save the costs of this even and help people who need it at home.

Have you perhaps just thought about the fact that maybe this song is just too cheap and too old-fashioned for people to vote for? Btw Montenegro was the only baltic country in this semi final, so no there was no possibility to "help themselves". It's still sad for Suzy though, cause she is such a lovely person :/

As an israeli i think it's true... israel's situation is even worst than portugal... israel has no neighbors in eurovision (like spain for portugal) and has many political issue (not only geographic) so it really hard to qualify to the final (almost impossible) israeli song this year is really good and by many it's favorite to top 5 but i will not surprised if israel will not make it to the final in thursday... i wish luck for suzy! she is amazing! and good looking woman! she was great on stage! with very lively song! and i am inlove with her badly!!!!!

dan danino at least Israel has won. Portugal has never won a eurovision. We can live that now for the Eastern Europeans and Northern.

People out there: for God sake, Portugal got such a big cultural richness from music to food to architecture, history.... we are not ONLY FADO. we have so many diferent folk rythms from the north to the Algarve, Madeira & Azores, and this song was inspired in one of those folk rythms. this is not samba, this is not african rythms, this is part of portuguese culture. got it know?

I love this song, as well as the Portuguese language and music. So beautiful! I can't believe this didn't get to the final. I'd love to see Portugal get their first Eurovision victory, as well as regular excellent results, becoming one of the most successful Eurovision-participating nations. I can't wait to see them return next year in Ukraine. I'd also love to visit Portugal one day, as I've heard it's a beautiful country with lovely people.
