​@@themythickingdegaminglegend In the light novel where all of this comes from, it explains that the reason Kirito can become such a strong Monster is because of his high stats brought over from SaO, on top of that the illusion spell mimics a monster the player chooses "in their mind so to speak", And because Alfhiem has all the code and data from SaO Kirito was able to bring the Gleam Eyes into existence.

Alexym Many anime at the same time in a short period. It’s pretty hard to remember everything. I had to rewatch the anime a couple time just to realized some stuff that I missed. Like how in the third episode, the robe figure that Kirito ask about the revival item was Argo, a character you only know in game. There is absolutely no way to mistake that face marks. The other thing is the guilds that they spoke about. Honestly, I would love it more if there are more episodes for the first SAO. Especially between episode 2-3 where they skip from Floor 1 to Floor 11.

Its awesome the original aincard one was the best this one was ok ish and ordinal scale was cool too but alicization was not at all good they just turned kirito from op character to a sort of cry baby and every time he cries there is eugeo to help him that was not at all good .....don't get me wrong I don't hate Sao but I don't like alicization.

The reason why people talk trash about SAO is because of 2 anime youtubers who spread lies and misinformation about it, one of them even apologized for it and admitted he reviewed it after watching it once without paying attention but the damage was done. Don't let it get to you though SAO is amazing i mean you said it yourself and can see it for yourself, so yea i'm happy you're loving one of my favorite shows ever!

"How can you possibly enjoy something and be critical of it?" Easy, you enjoy good stuff because you understand it's good, and you don't enjoy bad stuff because you understand why it's bad. Digibro starts his famous hour-long SAO rant by specifically saying he's not going after the fans, only the media itself. It was the first video of his I ever watched, and that disclaimer instantly earned him a subscriber. MB apologized for when he went too far, dunking on fans or the creator personality in "an ironic way". Neither has ever recanted their substantive criticisms of SAO, and if anyone is curious why they're so mean to it, go actually check out their work. They make a lot of valid points about the story not making sense, and Alfheim in particular is widely blasted as the weakest part of the show. It's a weird time to try and die on the hill while it's entering the biggest valley.

@@RoyalFusilier ik GGO and Alfheim is pretty hated, but if you already watched those trust me, Alicization is absolutely amazing. It has the original vibe of season 1 with new characters, interesting plot and actual danger lol. The animation is much newer and you should definitely watch it I highly recommend. Just for context, I have watched 150+ anime and I still consider Alicization good. I definitely wouldn’t say I have professional taste or anything but Sao has improved considerably.

This all started with that one scene later on, any anime showing sowmthing like that goes straight in hate hell. Funny since most of the haters either did not even watch it or watched it and rate it high but then started hating cause others do and they the hive type personality. SAO was a best seller in Japan, and even currently every new volume still outsells most of the popular LN's. Watch anime and rate it by your own standards, and never ever listen to someone else telling you to not watch something cause its bad.

You won't see much of Kline until Sword art online II... he has a few important roles in the future... I think if you continue with the story all the way through you will appreciate it even more... I'm looking forward to seeing your reactions to meeting Zekken. This made me really happy to see that you'd posted this today! I think this might be favorite episode from the Fairy Dance arc, between getting to see more of Alfheim's magic system (the mana shield that Leafa casts looks beautiful and perfectly fitting for what it does), seeing Kirito transform into a pretty good impression of The Gleam Eyes, and his speech to Leafa there near the end. All of it comes together to make this a truly fantastic episode. Also, I really appreciate your thoughts on the series, and I agree! I think if more people gave it a fair shake, they would really enjoy it. Honestly, everything suggests to me that most people actually do enjoy SAO, and it's just a loud and incredibly rude minority that continuously trash the show and refuse to allow people to enjoy it. Anyways, I'll be looking forward to your next video!

His form is an illusion, but the damage he inflicts is real. Think of it as changing his appearance, but all of his attacks still have their normal strength, meaning that once the tanks in the front broke formation, he could cut through them easily.

I can understand why people hate SAO, especially after the 1st arc ended. Protagonist is written off as "bland" and is just OP + too many plot holes. However with the 3rd season, I can't seem to fault it at all. It's honestly watching a different anime. There's character development, the animation is crisp and the plot so far is great. Each week, I'm anxious to watch the next episode.

There are a few vocal haters that have essentially silenced the fan base, because no one wants to be mocked for liking something. The fact that SAO continues to be so popular shows that the overwhelming majority still love the franchise and want to continue supporting it.

People think SAO is bad because they overpower kirito. This stems from the idea of a "normal" shonen anime being about growth of physical strength. Kirito doesn't really grow past the first season. His development kinda just halts, but that's because kirito is meant to be a constant where everything else in Sao is changing all the time.

The illusion is a polymorph, it transforms the user in a monster that keeps all of the stats they have. Usually it changes the user in a weak monster, that’s why it’s considered useless in battle. Kirito left Aincrad that he was a level 96 and he is in Alfheim with all of his previous stats so it’s like if a level 96 boss was fighting a level 20 party

The thing about SAO is not that is bad. Because it can be good if it's one of your first animes, but after you've seen lots of shows that are better written- you can see the flaws. For example you wouldn't compare Demon Slayer with SAO. What I mean is that some shows are better written that others. In my opinion I think SAO season 1 is decent, but for me it feels like just another isekai harem with an OP character that doesn't ever lose or commit mistakes. I'll still watch the reactions tho xD

I make a distinction here; rip on media all you like. Insulting people for liking it, that's a whole different can of worms. By that same token, people who love something need to accept it getting criticized, criticism is a critical part of the artistic process for even really good stuff. Or at least, not go after the critics.

@@RoyalFusilier There's a difference between valid criticism (even if it's a criticism that you don't agree with) and invalid criticisms (creating straw man arguments, lying/misconstruing things, ignoring explanations, selectively taking individual moments to make broader assessments, etc...). I usually don't advocate for attacking critics, because everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you're blatantly lying, you deserve to be called out on it.
