Having practiced his meditation techniques for 42 years, I float in his sweet grace, it being so subtle, so soft - but he warns to get with good company to protect this inner state from any intrusion of the modern, ego mind. At the age of 9, this blessed soul left his home and for 3 years travelled alone throughout India evaluating different masters until he found a teacher that met his criteria for his master. He quickly gained supreme enlightenment and chose to live in seclusion of the forest for decades. For many years, he was entreated to take the seat of the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, and finally agreed in 1940 to do so. Maharishi, who was Guru Dev's closest disciple said "His Holiness" was not sufficient to capture Guru Dev's degree of purity, enlightenment and supreme Vedic knowledge and demanded Guru Dev be addressed as "His Divinity". Maharshi credited Guru Dev with reviving the purity of the Vedic knowledge which Maharshi was entrusted to bring to the world by Guru Dev.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was tasked by his Guru Dev to bring the blessings of the Vedas to the world. Maharishi always, without a single exception, in his 50 years of tireless, single minded devotion to the inspiration of Guru Dev, demanded his teachers always said Jai Guru Dev in reference to Maharishi's master, his Divinity, Swami Brahmananda Sarasvati. When Maharishi's TM teachers teach TM, during the puja there is a picture of Swami Brahmananda Sarasvati....not Maharishi. TM will always be taught that way. Maharshi said "his holiness" was not a sufficient title for his Guru Dev...that "his divinity" was more appropriate.
