Winter, by far, is my favourite time of year. Where I live, it seems to be getting longer each year. Last week we got 7 centimeters of snow and I loved it. The last five months of April, we have been getting snow, something that was very rare before five years ago. We also have milder summers with record breaking crops because of the mild temperatures with lots of light. I love it!

Here most of us are experiencing the opposite. Winters are getting shorter and ice conditions are not as good/reliable as when I was younger.

@@LinusNil It is strange how things work out. Canada and UK has become cooler. Mediterranean and Africa has become hotter. South America has become milder. Australia has become an inferno. Record ice growth in the Antarctic regions. Record ice melts in the Arctic regions. Nature has become bipolar.

By now, he has probably made a dual scramjet engine powered sleigh with dual inlet shock cones, ejection seat covered cockpit with dial parachutes, with wire controlled high speed rudder, triple drag chutes for safe stopping, powered by high pressure, super fine, injected, JP-7 fuel. The fuselage is probably titanium and carbon fiber made from stolen blueprints from the American Lockheed Skunkworks. The aim is for mach 3m. But they have only accomplished Mach 2.7 so far.

man i would chew my leg to run there...in croatia they fak it up with too much rules and inspections...in the end it is not about racers but about cirkus sponzors...nice run guys...did you try with oder types of gases??? fuel??

bozidarstrk It's incredibly fun and the organisation behind this (Landracing.se) are true heroes. It has not been uncomplicated here either. Some of the largest organizations for motor sport in Sweden have done their best to intervene but this is just getting bigger and bigger. People simply like to have fun and not taking everything too seriously. Regarding safety, it is taken seriously at these events too. But instead of being bureaucratic to the end of days, preventing people from participating just because they came up with something new, there is some flexibility here. Don't eat your leg! Use it to get here instead. We have just signed up for Speed Weekend on Ice 2017.

bozidarstrk We have not tried other fuel and don't really have a plan on doing that now. The plan for next Speed Weekend is to fix the engine and make better engine mounts to prevent it from coming moose and being smashed into pieces again.

bozidarstrk Yes durability is not really one of the benefits of pulse jets (those are few actually). Right now we have a good idea of what really happened thought, and we believe we are on good way of reaching really good durability. This engine was new for last Speed Weekend. It is made from 253ma, which is exceptionally good at withstanding high temperature and mechanical stress. What happened now was that the engine expanded more than the rear (floating) mounts could take which caused the middle one to snap. The engine then started to vobble around in the chassis and got smashed by the broken mount until it cracked. With better mounts it will probably hold up well. I hope... :) Oxygen feels totally out of the question to me. I almost caught fire two times and prefer keeping it as (un)safe as it is :)

You are right. It is not anywhere close as fast as one might expect judging from the sound. The current best average speed on flying kilometer is 254,86 km/h (~158 mph).

Kind of. There is a lever. When you pull it, a fork engages into the ice. I probably brings you to a full stop a few seconds quicker.
