I don't comment often but i have to say, having watched more than a few episodes, Brian, the captain, is one of the very few out there who seem to posses, and naturally so, All the qualities of a true leader/coach. His presence sets the tone and vibe on his boat. It is a pleasure to observe such a fine example of what leadership is, all in tact and finesse, always uplifting those who need it most without being condescending. He is a very respecting man, resourceful, willing to suffer in the place of his crew and did not hesitate to rescue them when needed. A true captain in the whole sense of the term, all business yet all human with no gaps. My respects. I would sail with him, and them, anywhere, in a heartbeat.

I’ve been watching the adventures of Delos since the beginning of the year, watching several episodes a day until I caught up. I love sailing and you guys take me to places I will likely never go. I’ve branched out and started watching some of the other sailing videos (la Vagabonde, Doodles, Lazy Gecko) just for something sailing to watch in between your weekly videos. Delos makes the others all look like they’re moving in slow motion. You guys are the best. May the wind always be at your back.

I am 80 years old living in New Hampshire widowed, my Beautiful soul mate from High School passed away 7 years ago I just wanted to take a minute and thank you so much for this journey you are on and sharing it with us. The life you all are living together is such a very great memory. When I found you I went back to the beginning to find out how this journey on SV Delos got started. Really glad you kept the name, I even read where it came from so I would understand. Please be safe, have fun, enjoy life while you are young.

Love the title! This episode showed the many sacrifices, small and large, you all make to live the adventurer's life. I could see how at times - like when leaving a place you've grown to love so much - you might question whether you really want to simply continue on rootlessly going from place to place. But then you always seem to find amazing new people and places to fall in love with all over again. As always, thanks so much for bringing us along.

I love the way you guys seem to have adopted the English word "mate" into your language aboard. Lizbeth is quite an English woman, large as life and twice as cheerful. I nearly bought a boat myself, until my daughter, a delivery skipper of yachts, said to me, "dad, you can easily buy one but you have to keep it, like a car or a horse"! After following you guys for a while and see how much work you put into just keeping that boat going, I am kinda glad I didn't now. If I was even 20 years younger I might give it a go but now retired I think I'll just enjoy watching your wonderful journeys and exploits. I did all that many years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. I got sea sick twice, both on ferry boats across the Channel, 50 miles of hell! Well I do hope you keep on with your adventures, enjoy it, you are young and as John Mortimer said, when you are young, the days stretch endlessly before you, when you get old, the breakfasts come around all too frequently!

The people on board really make the videos the best. Of course your ocean shots this time were out of this world as well. The honesty from all of you is great. I've cooked many breakfasts for 4 man crews and it can be a bit queasy feeling. Just get on deck as soon as possible and take the helm. While they eat, you will start to feel amazingly better. Let someone else clean up. Leave something in the pan for yourself. Eat, then hit the sack or sail some more. Sailing the boat is the absolute best cure for Mal de mer.

So, I keep telling friends and family (the non believers) how I'm exploring the world with you guys. Going places I'll never go. But the ocean videos are always the best. LOVE the creaking and sounds of the waves and white water contrasting the blue.....

Great episode as usual! Sorry so many felt uneasy for so many days. Regarding the dead hard drive, an old trick that worked for me more than once was to put the hard drive in a freezer for 30-60 minutes. Once it is very cold, pull it out, plug it back into the computer, then boot the computer like normal. In many cases the "dead" hard drive will come back to life. Be ready to immediately back up your work because it could die again at any time. Good luck and safe sailing!

The most beautiful sunset I ever saw at sea was midway between Hawaii and the PI, through a distant squall. One night, we were running in darken ship mode and there was no moon. It was so dark you couldn't your hand in front of your space, but the Milky Way was absolutely stunning! Moonrise over the ocean, is another spectacular event, especially if you're sailing into it...

Whats a great episode! You've had, for the South Atlantic, a sustained period of great weather. Brady the Meteo Meister!!. A quarter or beam sea is always going to test a few constitutions. As a rule on my boat permanently I keep a jar of preserved ginger, excellent for travel sickness & sorting the stomach, foam earplugs (wearing just one in one ear helps tremendously), queasy people on daytime watch only (the horizon is the only thing steady at sea, and looking at it does bring some relief), keep the crew warm, plenty of fluids (a diet of flat coke, the only time I ever drink it, and ginger biscuits) works wonders. FINALLY!!!!, Alex speaks :-). Love Lisa boogieing around the cockpit in the middle of the night on her own. What is she on!? Another great Karen episode showing she's still got the touch & style.

thanks for the videos. I was a Jumpmaster in the 82nd Airborne Division. We would fly on C-130 for 4 hours doing nap of the earth or following the terrain. A pilot told me how to handle motion sickness. Take one earplug and put it in one ear. Leave the other one out. Then drink ginger aile or put some Ginger in water and drink it. This helped me. As a Combat leader it wasn't a confidence builder when you throw up in the aircraft. Dramamine did not work. This worked.
