you actually find the hl1 engine is still played my many people. 1.6 is still the most popular out of all the games on Steam and that uses the HL1 engine.

I like how that one guy just stands there in front of Tor, and doesn't do anything else as he's killed by him. Clearly, that guy knows something about Tor we don't. Or he's just an idiot. Not sure.

Belbin, I think you may have let nostalgia affect your opinion WAY too much. HL2 definitely does not suck compared to HL1. In fact, from what I've seen, both games are awesome in their own ways. HL1's got the sheer number of mods that you know are great and have aged quite well, and HL2 has the near-perfect physics that are incorporated heavily in a way that's quite fun.

they seriously need to haul ass on this mod, its been 4 bloody years and 3.5 still aint out, the SC team must set themselves some deadlines because this update to a mod is taking longer than the time it takes to make full games. sure hardcore fans still play 3.0 but that number is starting to fall, their forums are now deserted and their efforts on a HL2 version is dead, its either do something or pack up and call it quits.

I prefer HL1 over HL2. I don't really know why, maybe because HL1 has much better gameplay and feeling. HL2 is great game too but it never had such great ambiance as HL1. Even most HL2 mods I have played suck when compared to HL1 mods (Synergy and SC. Nowdays games have better graphics, sounds, AI and stuff than 10 years before, I would still play good old Doom 2 instead of Crysis anytime :)
