There are three versions of Streetwalker. First we have this one the 10/27/86. Then theres the 1987 demo that has a western like intro its leaked but in VERY BAD quality. Finally theres the 1988 remix that Bill Bottrell did when Michael was on the bad tour.

Not _way_ before, but yeah a good bit before. Michael's voice changed a lot after the mid 80s. APOM, Al Capone, this specific version of Streetwalker all sound very Thriller, vocally, which were all recorded in 85/early-ish 86. His voice matured a little bit when they were recording the final cuts for Bad, and then even more so on the tour itself. I'd say it wasn't until a good bit into 1988 that his voice hit peak maturity.

@@WhoJustReplying I’m definitely getting more mature vibes from this than I am from the Captain EO songs, which I’m pretty positive were recorded in 85, as it wasn’t a small production and would take some time. That along with Michael’s look in the studio bts videos, feels like 85. There’s a lot less of that Thriller breathiness and more grit here. I’d bet on this being later 85 moving into 86, if not already 86, but I could be wrong.

There was fully finished version on Bad 25 that was thrown away from original album right before release in 1987, they probably didn't wanted to put 2 similar songs if they can put something more interesting
