I really think the main issue is not "what" he does -- whether this is tektonic, electronic dancing, whether he is inspired by takesomecrime (he is, he says it himself). The main point is "how" he does it, and he is truly amazing. There's a "je ne sais quoi" quality to his dancing that makes him unique and more enticing than other dancers: the lightness of his moves, the way he seems almost to not touch the floor, the way he becomes one with the music, the beautiful B&W filming with the sunlight from behind him that makes him look almost ethereal.

It's weird but, nearly all dance videos to Parov Stelars' Songs are amazing and nice to watch.

for anyone interested, this type of dancing is called "criming"
@SwingAllNight10 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure its Swing man
@Highyeena10 жыл бұрын
SwingAllNight it's similar, but... after having watched it and having been a long-time fan of takeSomeCrime, I notice that there's differences between this (which seem to me to be very similar to TSC) and swing. I suppose it's somewhat up for debate, either way!
@SwingAllNight10 жыл бұрын
Electro Swing is a mix of Charleston, Shuffle Tectonic and some aspects of House.
@Highyeena10 жыл бұрын
SwingAllNight Electro-swing is a music genre, not a dance style. Parov Stelar is blatantly electro-swing (as well as Caravan Palace, my own personal favorite) but this particular style of dancing is called Criming, the phrase was coined by takeSomeCrime back in 2010 on a video of him dancing to Catgroove by Parov Stelar. Criming is, in and of itself, a mixture of hand and foot movements (what you are saying is the charleston, here) with similarities to tektonic and the melbourne shuffle, and occasionally the integration of fighting and breakdancing moves.
@SwingAllNight10 жыл бұрын
He said and i quote ,, "Sophisticated Crime" Perhaps the style will be called "criming"..... Or just call it whatever you want haha'' There is no real name for our/this style, it's most know as Electro Swing TSC just said ,,Perhaps'' because not even he knows the real name because there's no actual name. But i get what your trying to say.

This is one of the most brilliantly orchestrated videos and 11 years later I still marvel at the artistry. Back lighting and loose clothing lends a fluidity reminiscent of Fred Astaire. Later videos had changed to slim clothing and pretty ordinary lighting even though the dancing was good. This piece is one of a kind and magical. my heartfelt compliments to you Sven. Your sense of style in this is impeccable
