+AIKISBEST of course it's a red card. you can't do that to a player.. it's basically assault... the ball is 10 metres from him too...

AIKISBEST That's not how it works. No matter what the other player did, you're not allowed to punch or kick them back. If you do, you'll get a red card. Granqvist should've just stayed calm and let the refree hand out punishment for the tackle. Of course it's easier said than done, but a professional player should be able to keep their calm.

And that was neither a punch or a kick. Yellow Card and some strong words of warning, yes, but Red card? No way!

AIKISBEST Any punch/kick/shove/push as "revenge" after the refree has blown the whistle, no matter how soft, is an automatic red card. You can think whatever you want about that rule, but it's been there for many years so Granqvist should've just kept calm in this situation.

If you look at the balls direction, you can clearly see that the faroes player touched the ball before the swdish player.

MadeOfCrazyWood The old rule that reckless tackles are allowed as long as you hit the ball before you hit the player was abolished a long time ago. A reckless tackle will result in free kick and a yellow/red card no matter if you hit the ball first or not.

Correct, the swedish player seems to stumble when he's trying to kick the ball, and as a result of that trips and falls, without a single touch from the faroese player
