Almost every of her floor routines, were little pieces of art work.... She was unique in that way. In my mind, there was never another gymnast before or after her, who was so passionate about telling a story on the podium. Some think, Svetlana Khorkina was similar to Svetlana Boginskaja... I guess they have never seen the latter performing. 😀😍😋

@@Boban1611 Agreed! I know many have drawn the comparison, but I feel that Khorkina's focus on the performance was always surface like "look at me being pretty and flexible" whereas Bogi's came from a deeper place of real art.

She was really special in artistic gymnastics. And her floor routines were almost all little precious jewels.... she told a story with her body, her choreography to the music.... always a highlight in competitions. 🧐😊🥰😎

Many fans compare Svetlana Khorkina to Svetlana Boginskajas magic. I don't think this is true. Svetlana Boginskaja was in a league of her own and is still unmatched. When she stepped on the podium, you were certain, she would tell a story with her body at the floor. And she did... You're telling the truth.... a goddess she was.

Never thought about it, but I am probably not so much involved in that genre. Still... she is (was) really beautiful. Her behavior, her posture, her style.... the last Queen of Artistic Gymnastics as we knew it from the Golden Era.

The reporter says: Where's the music? Then the announcer speaks: I believe, you are helping Svetlana Boginskaja with a warm applause, please... The reporter comments: Applause is good for sure, Music would be better.

I miss watching the routine for the actual routine. Now, I basically ignore the "dance" and just see what tumbling passes they do.

That's so true. I think the CoP is to blame.... the girls collecting points to get the highest possible SV, that's what they got to do..... in former times they collected until the 10,0 was reached and the rest was Artistic - as it should be in Artistic Gymnastics. 😎😏
