Kathy Johnson is a legend! When others started putting her down for the lower skill level and weird choreo, Kathy was always supportive of her even in a time where gymnastics was brutal.

I don't know why they said her difficulty level was low on floor. I was reading the 1989-1992 code of points and her floor had a high level at that time 🤷‍♂️

I think Bogi was struggling with endurance by this point in her career, so in this routine she chose to save her energy towards more difficult tumbling. The choreo here wasn't bad by any means but was considerably lackluster in comparison to her stunning routines in 1988 and 1989. Her 1992 choreo was more intricate but the tumbling difficulty suffered as a result.

bogi was held together by strings in 92, she focused on the coreo cuz she knew there was no way for her to perform more difficult tumbles

For whatever reason this routine gets alot of critcism from gymnastics fans, when it's actually better choreographed than her 1992 Gipsy Kings routine.

@Nathaniel Walker You know, this is my fave of Bogi's floors, but I never noticed any excessive pausing before. The only real pause I see is the one before the music change, but I'm inclined to call that an artistic choice, choreography that did what the music called for at that moment. So like a pause for artistry I guess. I do see though that in comparison w/ the following year the 1992 routine is more "dancing" and the 1991 routine is more "interesting shapes and body movements" (wikipedia says choreographed by the Bolshoi Ballet... like the entire company or..?). I suspect this is partly because the Gypsy Kings are just more danceable music.
