Zakharova is one of the most gifted, talented dancer. She dance beautifully and this is probably the cutest Giselle, but too cute. Anyway her dance is always so pleasant to eyes. Thank you very much. This brightened my day.

Charming elegant airly image made her beautiful primadonnna and also chaming pure bright Gisel image through this VTR dance part. Good Idea make her better impression as the act1st stage. Some times I show like same action on Gizel , but mostly dancers hand free or hands free after half passed of the dance daoughter. She could make a chaming daughter by this chaming acton.

She is intensely beautiful and her dancing is legendary. Her Giselle is not one of my favourites though because while her first act is aesthetically incredibly beautiful, so poised and so full of gracious energy, it doesn't seem to convey the gently hysterical fragility of a woman likely to die of a broken heart. But I am not bashing her: like I said, she's a perfect dancer, and how deeply she goes into the character is and remains a matter of taste.

Good God, her extentions her gorgeous. And so what if she's thin? Anyone who says that is more than likely jelous. She's a ballet dancer, that's harder to do than most sports, of course she's going to be thin.

If you grew up in an environment where you're weighed each week and put on a special diet where a slice of pizza is 'untouchable' and you are recommended to only eat raw vegetables... it's kind of inevitable you become like that especially with the intense training she received in Russia. She has been dancing for quite awhile now; I wouldn't be surprised by her thinness. She doesn't look unhealthy to me - it can be genetics also since Russia only picks out a certain type of body.

She is not doing pirouettes. Those turns are piques. Piques always start with one foot and frequently travel, while pirouettes start with both feet in a plie and should never travel.

Nah, it's actually pretty easy and painless if you have strong feet. It's the upper body posture that makes it a bit hard to pull off. You don't want to look tense or show effort!

Carlotta Grisi was the best Giselle by far. She was Italian also. Carlotta was never awarded the title prima ballerina assoluta, but she was awarded the ballet Giselle, which was created just for her. She danced Giselle in the World Premier at the Théâtre de l'Académie Royale de Musique, Paris!

i think svetlana is quite good in this, but like in all her ballets she always seems to be all about using the legs... not much upper body stuff going on and emotion. maybe i just dont know what im talking about, i mean im not a dancer... thats just how it seems for me

She is a talented dancer so of course I am not insulting her talent as I love to watch her, but she is knocking (or it appears she is) her foot into her hand at the beginning of the variation, and in general I prefer Vishneva's Giselle to hers. A portrait of what classical ballet should be in Giselle is Alicia Alonso, not Zakharova.
