SVG Full Time Cup | Daytona Double Duty | Run Down From Down Unda

Shane Van Gisbergen is officially going to the NASCAR Cup Series full time in 2025! He will pilot the number 88 car paying homage to one of NASCAR’s most popular drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. over the weekend SVG ran double duty in the cup and xfinity series at Daytona with 2 unfortunate results but his opportunities are nearly endless the rest of the year as he bumps his cup schedule up from 3 races to go in the year to 7 adding Darlington, Atlanta and Martinsville to his schedule with new sponsorship from Acceptance Insurance

88 in supercars was SVG'S team mate and then team owner Jamie Whincup, so very symbiotic to Aussie/kiwi racing.

Shane actually brings way more exposure to the team than Zane. It’s also fair that he’s attracting sponsors. So beyond the fact he’s a better driver he’s also a better commercial option.
