I can't express how awesome it is to see Juan again, he's been a bass hero of mine since I was a teenager and an inspiration as I recovered from stage 3 colon cancer around the time he had his accident. So I understand the hand neuropathy struggles. So excited to hear him and Deantoni, Halo Orbit and Big Sir!

It's so easy to lose track of people that have dealt with trauma/illness. Every few months or so I'd be reminded of Juan when listening to TMV and I'd look around but never really find much on his rehab. It's so cool to see he's doing so well. His bass playing is inspirational in itself, but his long road to recovery is much more so. My best wishes to you, sir!

Hell yes! First time seeing Juan since the accident and haven’t had much connection to social media. Thank god man, so good to see. As a drummer he and Jon Theodore are so crucial to my musical understanding growing up and just has provided so much great shit that has enriched my life. ❤❤❤

@@yorgosmoraitis7500 Omar went on a podcast, implied that Juan's some kind of a sociopath and the reason that the band broke up. He's also stated a couple times, I believe, that he considers Eva Gardner the one true Volta bassist, which is kind of fucked up and more than a little petty considering how many years Juan spent contributing to the Volta + Omar's solo stuff. Very likely just Omar talking shit/exaggerating whatever actually happened.

Can’t assume they didn’t make amends though. I’m sure Omar and Cedric reached out to Juan while he was in recovery. Not everything Omar does has been or has to be publicized on the internet for people to know about.
