@@AbdulHaq11901 yeah, you take a small flat head screwdriver and pry it open carefully. The thing is sealed with glue so you have to be careful to not break the plastic. Also never spray electronic wd40 on the board, it will mess up the display.

Unfortunately, Water somehow managed to get into my dispay and now I get error 10. Could you please you guide me through the procedure of opening the dispaly. Since I'm unable to find screws at the back of the dispaly. It seems like it cannot be opened without breaking it.

error 10 means that the display cannot get data from the controller that it is supposed to be connected to .it is a communication issue . this can be caused by a break in the connections(data and power) like a cable or a connector ,or that the connected controller is not powered up through the main power or 25-60 v enable line ..i have found that one of the reasons for failure is too much current is taken via the switched display out to the controller ,overloaded by people connecting current hungry lights ect.

I am building 48V 1000W ebike with this LCD. And on 12V light output I have 48V, it comes from the LCD (blue wire equals red at the moment). It was working when I checked everything first time. I still haven't use the ebike. What might be causing this behaviour?

I just had the same issue, I drew too much current through the front light, which shares power with the display so the display's 1013 transistor (top left where most of the thin cables are) literall blew up

I'm guessing because you switched from the Chinese brand it doesn't know how to talk to it. Didn't (communicate) with that sw900 in the same way.

Just clocked 500 miles, I have no error but it started fogging the display and does not turn off with the M button, assume rain damage. Now about to try opening display. Thanks.

Dwyane Dandridge. So sorry just seen you comment It's max is 1,000watts but it will go past that and start over. Exp: your on full throttle its showing 300watt cuz your really at 1300 watt but it cant show that so it rolls it over and just says 300 back off the throttle. Youll see it lower 300 200 100 then 1000 again 900 800watt and down from there...hope this helped sorry for the late reply and long reply back lol

McCool, After your jumper did you keep the lights connected to the controller and did they work? Same thing happened to me this weekend. I connected a headlight and it turned on then turned off about 3 minutes later and I got error code 10. Just bought this kit so I am a little pissed right now. I emailed the seller and they aren't doing much. They asked for a video of the code and the wiring. This obviously a design flaw. The SW900 should only relay to turn the lights off or on.

Jon Korn no i didn't keep the light wired in was worried because of the jumper fixing the weak point..i didn't want it to blowout some where else. So i didnt rewire it in...instead i now use a 12v rc plane battery to drive my headlights brake lights and cig lighter lol i have that to charge my phone or camera...

Update: took the SW900 apart and sure enough... a chip got smoked. Same error message different internal component. I just ordered a new unit from Amazon.

@@UnrealsticRider I would look over all wires first before moving on brake wire shouldn't do that...check your wires coming out of the motor...specialty if you when down on the bike...may have a cut wire back there...check the connector to the motor over to make sure all wires are pushed into the connector all the way.....let me know what you find

@@boondockunlocked2995 yeah I unplugged every wire and plugged it back in.. still have error code 10. I’m pretty sure a new esc will fix it.... I think when the break wire ripped out I had the lever engaged so now the esc thinks the breaks are always on hence why I have no throttle.

Lol just a flat head screw drive and slowly go around in a twisting motion do the 2 sides away from the screen first (2sides)

Ay mate, had the exact same problem aused by the exact samer thing and this fixed it. But now i'm only getting half throttle? My throttle has two incrememnts and its only doing the first. Reckon that's related or have i done something else in repairs

Yes work great with the 52volt and i just rolled the miles over 1600 so ive put 1,100 since this fix and still works great

@@michaelroberson3971 not with out a convertor the other way is to us a small 12v battery. From a RC car/plane or atv style battery....i used a 3cell RC plane lipo battery worked great and i just charged it every other day by its self....depending how many MAH's the battery is

I have the same problem error 10 I think it's because the display fogged up inside and there was a short circuit, that's why there is this problem.

You get the code after hooking up a headlight to the ESC or just a random error 10 code

Same thing happened to me for unit bought in Aug 2019 (after installing a light). But they went through a design change since this video was recorded and I see no obvious thins of burning. Thus nothing i can do to jumper. I bought the unit from ebikeling.

I have the same problem right now but I don't see any black stuff. I think I shorted out the line on accident. I also may have shorted out the controller. Crap. My SW-900 looks way different. It's wires are in different places and it's a blue circuit board.

Jump blue and red wires on controller cable to trigger motor enable. Blowing a fet by drawing too much current from the headlight connector causes this. If you short blue and red together, you will have to unplug the cable to disable the throttle as the motor wont enable as it used to via the screen.

@@boondockunlocked2995 this is the fix for error 10, its technically what you did just on the back of the display side. I did mine connector side. Essentially the headlight circuit is meant to be used as a switch voltage for a fet circuit to a light hooked directly to the pack. Its why everyone keeps talking about connecting a headlight and getting the error. I fixed mine by shorting the blue and red wires on the connector after finding a pinout online and reading a comment on another one of your vids. Thank you for making this btw. It helped a ton.

Just to clarify; the blue and red between the controller and display runs the full pack voltage. You're saying you bypassed the display by jumping those together?

@@calebkrueger4711 yes, blue is a sense pin, while red is pack voltage. When you bridge them, you enable the motor and controls, complete movement, and use, but with the display staying off and unlit. You then can choose to manually turn the display on by hitting the normal "M" button for configuration / speed reading.

Flat screw driver. in a twisting motion. its glued together. if you watch my updated video you can see closer views and see where its glued at....hope this helps
