SW Motech Adventure Rack for the BMW R1300GS, the best?

When you had the rack on how did you find it. I am thinking of getting one and a DUSC top case but I am concerned the rack mounting points are a bit weak?

The SW Motech rack was super solid, I had zero issues with the rack in terms of sturdiness. It looks flimsy due to the way it’s shaped but it was very strong.

Hi TSB What do you think about the rack for a pillion to hold on to, are they useable?. I liked the original handles which come with the GS but with the SW Motech kit they have to go? thanks JP

The SW Motech rack has handles at the side, maybe not as pronounced as the OEM ones but they are there and I use them to push the bike backwards into the garage. I haven’t noticed any significant different in using them over the OEM ones since fitting so I think they’d be fine :)

Thanks for the video! The first one showing the SW topcase rack. Visually a real downgrade from the original rack if you ask me. I don’t understand SW in that regards, maken detachable side rack (nice) in comparison to this one. You are realy forced to ride with a topcase…

I agree and I’ve now reverted back to the OEM rack with a plate for a Givi top box instead as the SW Motech rack was preventing me from fitting pannier racks as well
