The writing and camera angles in this MMO rival that of major Movie titles. This one interaction shows 2 characters that are incredibly intelligent and powerful. 2 characters that know who they are and know what they want but unfortunately will probably never work together because if they did they know “it wouldn’t last forever”.

Honnestly at this point its like Malgus is fighting against the writers themselves! He realizes the player is the only way forward, but the writers keep running in circles which is the problem with EVERY SW media. Instead of moving forward, they just repeat what once was... Malgus did nothing wrong!

My Sith Warrior has ....complicated feelings towards Malgus. On Ilum, she was the Emperor's Wrath. This was her all-consuming devotion. Since then, a lot has changed. At this point, she kinda sees him as very similar. Both were for the Empire expanding it's allies. Both rebelled against the Emperor. While she remained the Alliance Commander, she is still fairly loyal to the Empire and welcomes the changes in alien recruitment. In Malgus, she now sees a very similar spirit to the point that she might have joined him on Ilum if she knew then what she knows now. As such, she also said "Nothing lasts forever". As for Malgus, it would depend on the toon but I would like to think that, for the SW, he recognizes the same thing. In many ways, the main difference between my SW and him was that my SW was in the right place at the right time and he jumped the gun with his plans. In some ways, it's a "There but for the grace of God go I" situation. In different circumstances, things could have been different.

I love all of this cutscene, but the moment at 5:13 is by far the best moment. Malgus talking about "fools who believe they can outrun the shadow" while the player is framed by the very same chains that hold Malgus bound. Such a cool moment. Also, Malgus drawling "Shae Vizla" after that creepy smile will always be cool to me.

My personal theory: Malgus wants to implement the Rule of Two in some way. I know I know that it was Darth Bane who originally implented it but we are in Legends here so changes can be done. Thats why probably he is trying to get you on his side. Yes he is in a hopeless position and probably tries to play every card that he can though I think he is sincere when says that we can understand what he is trying to do. Surely this doesnt mean we HAVE to be on his side but at least understand what he wants to acomplish after that I hope the player gets to choose if he/she sides with him or not. If this is some sort of "Malgus manipulates you to do his bidding" I would be disappointed bc we already had this kind of a Story with KOTFE / KOTET where we did Valkorions bidding. I want to be his equal in this matter if at all. So I hope the developers will do something different then again "You are being manipulated" Blah blah blah.

Id help Malgus hes striving to attempt to break the wheel we kno it doesnt break till palpatine dies but being someone who atleast tries is a fitting end for our charecter and his, two of the strongest charecters of that era who have fought eachother multiple times there is no better ally then a enemy that understands you.

Darth Malgus is so loved by the developers of this game as he never dies no matter how many times he gets defeated. SWTOR can't survive without him.

Had the offered us the opportunity to join him, either on Ilum or his space fortress, my Juggernaut would've joined him. I saw the the changes he wanted to instill and agreed. I wish they'd allow that choice now. But, based on their history, that's not going to happen.

They don't really release content like that anymore. "Expansions" are just whatever update cycle they're in, not really relevant to how big the update is or what story it's telling. Been like this ever since KOTET came out. Point being, if we join Malgus, it will just happen. They won't do a massive expansion for it. We'll just get it when its ready and they'll continue the story as they release updates. Exactly like how they handled the Saboteur stuff for Onslaught.

​@@theboy1625 Legacy of the Sith is about the same size as every other expansion now. Originally, Shadow of Revan was only 2 planets and 2 flashpoints. That massive chunk of story at the start with Lana and Theron is actually part of the previous expansion, and Ziost was added much later. The "big story expansions" like KOTFE and KOTET sacrificed a LOT to have so much story. Virtually no class content, no open world areas worth exploring, no daily areas, no flashpoints, nothing. You had to pay for each extra chapter of KOTFE. In KOTET, we had to be waiting months for each individual operation boss to be added. I know its hard to notice with 6 month gaps between updates, but Legacy is substantially bigger (and a lot more consistent) than most prior expansions. Also, I do want to point out the benefit of the current system. Them leaving expansions to rest for so long means you don't have to spend as much money. So if you subbed a year and a half ago, you still wouldn't have to be paying money to get more story content until at LEAST another 2 years from now.

I would love to help Malgus and finally show him that he may have transcended the Empire, but not the Dark Side like the (dark side) Player has. In the end he could die redeemed to the light.
