I don't know, but after doing some research, I found three things: 1. That glue or whatever may prevent the wire from being welded into the terminal as a homogen weld (at least some of the surface area will/may have that glue giving it less holding-area) 2. I read the worst thing you can do is to try to make stainless steel waterproof bu covering it, as the oxygen accessing the steel is only benefitial to the endurance of the steel and swage 3. From my practical, logical thnking, I would have thought it would be best to compress the wire at the end, and then releasing pressure towards the opening of the terminal. This to avoid having a sudden alteration on the wire, going from beeing swaged to nothing at the opening of the terminal. Swaging/crimping it all way, may give it a weakness where it enters the terminal. (coned clamping = less stress as there is gradual grip. I don't know, but have seen photos or video of that way of doing it)
