NChammer agrees with half of this stuff. But he’s so stuck on the whole “hard work beats talent” BS that he takes a wrong turn right as he’s abt to understand it. He even says “I wish I could have this view”. Like bro ur literally gaslighting urself to have it. that whole “he’s predisposed to beating the nine tails cuz his dad did” shit was pure nonsense. My dad can cook a mean ass omelette, doesn’t mean I’m gonna automatically cook a mean ass omelette too. He keeps harping on genetics and seeing just the raw effects of Naruto’s key moments instead of actually reading between the lines and interpreting the aspects to its full extent. He also points out “yeah the reincarnation stuff means they’ll only have to fight eachother and continue the cycle of hatred but every reincarnation was OP!” That’s like saying the entire uchiha clan is OP because the 4 main ones in the story are when they’re just odd ones out and have to be granted that power to be effective characters. Same with the reincarnations. He agrees Naruto works hard and he agrees Naruto wins against the odds (the definition of an underdog btw), but he and many other people are stuck in the archaic “ninja Jesus! Hard work beats talent! Neji was both right and Naruto is an underdog--the two aren't mutually exclusive. Also, unless the anime is a Seinen or a very rare Shounen, the universe tends to center around the main character and these types of special/unique characteristics exist in some way or another

Taijutsu is just being able physical enhance yourself which adds the additional benefit of being able to stick to stuff like the water and trees. I have a theory for why so many people think the show is about hard work beats talent. Reruns. Back in the day, they reran the chunin exams over and over agian, so a bunch of people who have been watching the show for a long time have seen the chunin exams more than any other arc and remember is more then any other part of the show. Couple this with how well Lee was received by fans, and you have a bunch of people who think of Lee's character arc during the chunin exams first when they hear Naruto.

On the Neji/Hinata thing - I think part of it is that Neji would be more accepting of his role in his clan _if_ Hinata were better than him. She's _supposed_ to be better than him. That's what his father died for, that's what he's supposed to die for. But she isn't. And that makes him angry. At her, at the clan, at everyone. Because he isn't supposed to be talented compared to her, but his skills don't fall in line with what his role is. He might not be able to change his fate, but he can certainly rub the elder's faces in the fact that he's better. For the Lee point - Lee can absolutely mold Chakra because he can stand on water and run up vertical surfaces, which is something you cannot do without chakra manipulation. On the whole 'Naruto has an advantage through using x amount of shadow clones' - Shadow Clones are a time saver and an efficiency multiplier. But it's also a fatigue multiplier. Yeah, he can make and maintain like 500 shadow clones and use those to train, thus training 500 times more efficiently and 500 times more quickly. But he's also _burning_ 500 times more energy and effort to get it done. It's not like doing all that doesn't cause fatigue. It just lets him work harder and faster than everyone else, he still has to work.

They were all trained by the academy and had ninja parents. There is no reason to believe that Lee is any different. Moreover some of them had parents who died when they were really young meaning they had it worse than Rock Lee. Most s rank ninja are not trained by their clan to be so. Rock Lee was average at Taijutsu in the academy but got the best training in the world and had a body that allowed him to do it. He also has talents in both the 8 gates and a SUPER talent at drunken fist that he didn't need to train for. Are you really saying that is worse than being a literal human sacrifice. If you actually watch the video, he explained that he agrees that in part 1 Naruto was an underdog. That's why the main theme of hardwork beats talent is really apply in part 1. It also still applies throughout the early parts of Shippuden but the theme is slowly fading as the IP introduces how genetically Naruto should always be a talented Shinobi. the Uzumaki clan introduction which her mother is. The history of his father, being one of the most talented Shinobi and a prodigy since he was a kid. And of course the introduction of the reincarnation cycle. In part 1 we don't know that. In part 2, we're shoved all of the proof that Naruto has always been fated to be the greatest Shinobi ever. So no, Nick doesn't contradict himself nor gaslighting himself at all. It's a logical argument.

It is strongly built in part 1, since the land of waves arc where Naruto tho not beat Sasuke in talent yet, but he's catching up. But more specifically in the chunin exam arc when it revolves around Neji and Lee. And then in Shippuden there are more themes introduced. Such as the child of prophecy, cycle of hatred, reincarnation and more stuff.

@@Thousandths. nah bruh its been a long running debate. when people bring up the flaws in the naruto series and point to rock lee being a bigger underdog than naruto, it has nothing to do wity naruto being an orphan or having no friends or anything besides the fact that naruto is more physically gifted than mjority other characters.
