What is up folks, I got an all new reaction video to a interesting video by the great Swagkage. I have personally been a Dragon Ball fan for quite some time and definitely agree with most of the points that Swag made on why he doesn't like Dragon Ball Super. This video really opened my eyes to the inconsistencies within this anime. I hope you folks enjoy my reaction as well as my thoughts on this video. i like dragonball so to me its fine but i get why someone else may want something better than what super was..super was made for hardcore fans not the casuals who just likes fights and a manga plot..there was no cohesion between arcs because there was no manga to copy so they were making it by the seat of their pants and toriyama only helped with designs and arc story beats from point a to point b and c..not much inbetween so they had to write it on their own weekly and thats hard to do...

7:47 he went SSBlue with Krillin for the same reason he did it with Android 17 and Gohan. It's just sparring. Even 18 said that there was nothing Krillin could do to win that fight. It is dumb but not as stupid as people say it is. And he didn't "stalemate" the attack, Goku's Kamehameha was overpowering Krillin's and Android 18 stepped. 8:31 same reason Trunks went Super Saiyan when fighting Tien. Why does that need to me explained? It's obvious. Gohan IS NOT on Super Saiyan Blue level. 11:06 that's not a spirit bomb. 12:52 the thing is they are not up to their level. Goku and Vegeta are still leagues above everyone else, except Frieza that one made zero sense.

You’re taking everything he’s saying too literally. No one thinks that the others are at the same level as Goku and Vegeta but the fact that they even a little bit relative is strange. For example when fighting Cell they all trained but even without the special god amps and the like Goku and Vegeta where way stronger than everyone except Gohan and Arguably Trunks. However in super the other don’t train nearly as hard and don’t get any sort of amps or special training that we can see and somehow managed to stay somewhat relevant they should have fallen off just like Yamcha did during Z. As for the going blue during spars because they’re sparing isn’t a good explanation for why he did it or felt the need to do so. Since there wasn’t a single reason for why he would do it against Krillin given to us as an audience. All that was needed to make that scene make sense was to have Goku think about why he felt the need to do so then the scene would flow better. This is just bad writing there have been other times in the series where doing things like this were done better like Goku and Gohan in the time chamber when he went super sayin against Gohan to push him to desperation in order to help him become a super sayin as we were given an a reason why he went super sayin in that training session. So again the reason why he went blue against Krillin that isn’t head cannon?

@@zeekslifemare4189 We don't see them train, there's a difference. And they are nowhere near as strong as Goku and Vegeta. Nobody else was relevant until the Tournament of Power where not everyone was on God level except a couple. Again why is it not a good explanation for it? There doesn't need to be an explanation for something so blatantly obvious. They actually do this in his fight with Gohan wen Gohan asks Goku to go all out against him, he clearly didn't need to, and people still thing Gohan is on SSBK level when he is not. The assumption that it's because they were just sparring isn't head canon because we see it in his fight with Gohan. He didn't push him to SSB Gohan asked him to go full power. And even 18 said Krillin didn't stand a chance and he didn't because if she didn't step in Goku's Kamehameha would have overpowered Krillin's.

@@OHCAM5 I respect your opinion however and these are just my thoughts and you can ignore them.The fact that you have to assume anything in a show that always has characters on the side commenting the obvious for the audience is pretty telling for the writing. I don’t even dislike super but the writers could have done a better job is all I’m saying. For the point about how we don’t see them train then if Yamcha came out of nowhere and was as strong as Piccolo was at the being of super and all we got was that he trained doesn’t that seem a bit silly just because a character trains doesn’t justify the power boost they got if we don’t know how it happens. At the end of the day this is all just my opinion though at least the show was fairly entertaining right.

@@zeekslifemare4189 Yes the fact they say he trained should be all you need to accept it. Maybe what kind of training he did but that's it. We don't need to be shown every little detail specially something as unnecessary as watching him train. Super doesn't has as much filler as DBZ had which is another reason why we don't see other characters train. Why do you think Kai came out and took most that out? We see them commenting the obvious but it is about the fight that is going on, we don't see them commenting on what kind of training Jiren did to be able to get on UI level they just say he surpassed his limit and that is all that is needed. If you want details go read the manga.

Yeah toriyama could've used all the shit he introduced to improve the characters he created, but he didn't. He made it the goku, vegeta, and once upon a time gohan show. Toriyama should've put in the work to help the other characters, he didn't, and now the writers need to write around that. It's toriyama's fault through and through that the side characters suck as much as they do. How could he expect that other people would fall in love with characters that he himself had forgotten.

it is dumb to tell people to be ok with plotholes and bad powerscaling when thats the focus of a show and for people to defend a series with information the show does not ever provide..fans think they can read the writers minds and defend it as if its not a mess up lol..they make stuff up to defend it and assume things...they cover up for the writing with guesses like oh goku clearly was not going all out in blue vs his old unconfident pal...how do you know that?..it takes 1 line of goku in his head saying i should take it easy..thats all it would take and we get it but they are lazy and do not care so some fans who use their brains get mad that the show does not explain stuff like that...a show should not be vague and open on stuff like that...kids would not come up with that logic without the show telling them so to them now kururrin can keep up with ssj blue goku and they like that but its not ture....making his unconfidence subplot even more dumb and it makes them think he trained off screen to get to that level

powerscaling op foes for that arc specifically we are presently in any mention of number based power levels energy clashes that blow up parts of the planet or the entire planet in dbz case unearned handed power ups for the main character clan special powers given to a character no one else can learn in their world making your bloodline the focus and escalation ruin shounen in longtime fans eyes more than anything and make people lose interest once you make 95% of your cast fodder at least before the ending when it does not matter anymore once a series ends if you did that but before that no way or the final battle lets say..thats fine.....if shounen series realized this and made power systems a lot like nen in hunter hunter or certain stans in jo jo's aka balanced with counters they would be 100x more popular stories cause the rest of it is great and the flaws are just tropes found in anything....shounen battle series can learn a lot from hunter...make it so anyone can beat anyone..never limit the possibilities of the fans imagination when we think of any 2 random characters in your shounen fighting like say in naruto sakura and hinata..do not claim sakura has surpassed tsunade and is the strongest female shinobi cause it ruins the debates and fun topics of thinking about how a fight between them for example would go and what counters what and the joy that comes from discussing that with your friends...keep up the mystery...make counters make a power system that is based on strategy who is using it their ability to think on their feet in combat and give everyone this base power...i like to think for example in one piece zoro could beat the big bad of the arc and luffy during certain encounters...saying luffy is clearly stronger then zoro since like east blue ended pisses me off and ruined that allusion that the main character does not always have to be the strongest just the one who uses what he has the best and eventually will become the strongest but is not that yet in the story...early one piece kinda did that actually...i legit felt zoro could beat luffy cause luffy could not counter swords with his devil fruit the way zoro was at a disadvantage when facing someone like buggy with a devil fruit thats strong against swords....but then haki ruined it all anyways....but oda jumped the gun with making zoro always fight the right hand man and luffy fight the big bad of that arc...everyone does not need to be in the same class level but make it closer and the differences smaller...i would like to think for example when usopp fought luffy at water 7 that he could win but i had no reason to believe he could even when he had thought ahead and was winning/on the offensive because luffy was a tank and usopp was shown to be weak...which ruins the tension of the scene....bleach suffered a lot from this issue...dragonball as well...

People hate Pan because she's an annoying brat and doesn't do much besides act as a plot device. She's a poorly written character, and rightfully gets shit for it, NOT because she's female. If any of the male characters are getting passes, it's because they're long established characters that have years of good rep under their belt. At worst, they get passes because of nostagia/fanboy bias. Also, Getes has gotten criticism for how much of a bitch he's been in Super, seemingly regressing back to his Z days after he was supposed to have moved on from his obsession with Goku, so you're either being straight up dishonest, or you haven't looked around the community to see the Super Vegeta hate, and regardless, you're using your ignorance along with misrepresenting people to claim the fanbase is sexist.

I mean piccolo being almost about super saiyan vegeta and goku level is by the fact that when he was training for those three years it was with goku. As for goku super saiyan blue vs krillin part it was clear that goku was not taking that serious. And i'm pretty sure that the fact that 18 had to step in and help shows that he was clearly not strong enough. I don't know why people act like goku was swapping hands wtih krillin when it was just a kamehameha battle and it wasn't even like a huge kamehameha like goku usually does. I also disagree none of the characters caught up to them. If the tournament of power didn't make it clear krillin, yamcha, tien or piccolo are not near goku and vegeta i disagree with swagkage saying they caught up hell no they did not catch up. The only people that maybe caught up was frieza and maybe gohan a little if anything. Even frieza who grows fast instantly was shown to be definitely weaker then goku and vegeta by the fact that he got his ass handed to him by toppo and was struggling wtih dyspo while vegeta gets rid of toppo by himself after he folds frieza and then still goes to fight jiren along with goku.

Because a Goku at his current level has no reason to even think of transforming against KRILLIN of all people. Besides maybe wanting to boost his confidence, but THAT is something that should've been better communicated if not outright stated so as to avoid any confusion, especially given how Super loves to give people stupid buffs to bring them up to God level. Either way, it's bad writing.

@@espurrseyes42 but it is communicated maybs not good but it is never implied goku needs blue to beat him. Krillin didn't even hit him once in his other forms to give that impression. And it's not a buff krillin litterally doesn't make it for most of the tournament. Nothing in the tournament of power implies he is his level either everyone on a tier as goku is longer in the tournament then him.

He has no reason to be going SSJ, let alone Blue against weakass Krillin other than a confidence boost that should've been communicated properly so as not to even give an impression that Krillin was even relative to Goku. wasn't the buu arc supposed to be a little more comical and that's why gotenks is as strong as he is? I don't know where I heard that from but, if that were the case then it makes sense why weak goten and trunks became powerful boi gotenks. It's all for the comedy. OK for Frieza, even while being stuck in hell, he used the concept of Image Training which does help with making you stronger so with him being stuck in hell in how many years leading to him fighting in the tournament, it would make sense in that regard to him somewhat on par with ssb goku/ vegeta For the others though...not sure Oh and in terms or the Potara retcon? There was actually a reason in the form of we were lead to believe that the fusion is permanent then, but yet they defused in Majin Buus body to the magic inside him, so i wouldn't say that the 1 hour time limit is a retcon since the retcon happened in the buu saga, then again you can disagree with me or help clarify that

@@OHCAM5 4 months actually but yeah I agree, if Freeza could get stronger by using image training in hell, why not say that he has enormous potential in addition to saying that while he was dead he did image training in hell?! That would better explain him getting stronger than Goku and Vegeta in their Blue forms with his Golden form, as he could have been image training on and off for years simulating fighting and eventually killing Future Trunks and Goku over and over again!

@@OHCAM5 Also Goku and Vegeta would have closed the gap between themselves and Freeza in Universe 6 and Zamasu arcs so saying Freeza didn't get stronger at all makes no sense to me! Also, the only reason Freeza and Blue Goku knocked each other out and Freeza didn't defeat him in the anime was due to Freeza tanking Sidra's destruction energy in his True Golden form, otherwise Goku could have just done the same thing by going Blue! In otherwords Freeza used up power before him and Goku knocked each other out!

i get what he means about kinetic fights...super and one piece both have this issue...and the war arc in naruto as well..cutting away ruins all tension in a fight...same for bleach..its so annoying...if i wanted to read words i would read the mangas..i watch anime for animated fights..give me a animated fight jackasses without cuts and talking...for like 10 minutes straight please....for once...
