If you say 'jambo' in Tanzania to mean 'hello' we're gonna know that you're not a native swahili speaker and you're still learning Swahili. We normally say 'hujambo' to mean hello. And we don't say 'bei ya hii ni nini' we say 'hii ni bei gani'

You're right hujambo is singular and hamujambo is plural. Jambo is shortened hujambo by tourist and who swahili isn't they first language like this lady who is teaching.
