Its always good to see who buys the honey . lovely shop to sell it.all the food looked wholesome and top quality no cheap trash.you get what you pay for.there is always plenty of hard work to do in the honey buisness. Keep the films coming all very interesting especially with different angles to look at.

Thank you Robin. I am lucky to have such a long standing quality outlet. Such shops are becoming increasingly rare. You’re right about the work involved in this game.

Well Trevor I’m assuming the lady in the shop was the Boss ,it’s always a treat to show your honey to the customers in person at one of your outlets,and you scrub up well with your best tie 😊. I do enjoy your old fashion approach to beekeeping same as myself, cleaning Q E is one of the most laborious jobs known to man . Keep up the great work

You assume correctly Colin. That is Diane, some say long suffering Diane.😄 I used to think my old fashioned ways weren’t the best but the older I get the more I like them. 👍

Another lovely video of a great business, im fairly new to bee keeping so always looking for easy ways to do things, i use a cranked honey scraper with the teeth ground down to scrape QE's works well. Have a great Christmas

Thank you for such a kind comment Martin. I am often impressed by the ingenuity of beekeepers . Your idea for a queen excluder cleaner is excellent. Well thought out.👍

An interesting video Tony. Lewis & Cooper is certainly a lovely traditional shop. Places that continue to sell quality products as opposed to the cheap poor quality foodstuff, should be protected and used by us all. As beekeepers know, cheap honey is a partcular product for massive abuse in supermarkets with fillers and bulking out syrups added to reduce costs!

It is a wonderful shop! The issue of fake and adulterated honey is huge but there seems to be no appetite (or money) for testing and prosecuting offenders. I don’t like it but I can also understand how important cost is to so many and how tempted they are by ultra-cheap goods.

Thank you John. It is a very special place, especially at Christmas. I’ve also heard the comparisons with the big London shops. Wishing you well in Selby.

Me too. I took the operation in 77. Just my luck.. when grandpa and my father were the bosses we used to sell trucks of heater. When I started varroa arrived after couple of years. And now with this new climate and all the competition it's a totally different game. Yeah, the years passed quickly. I started to collect everything.. the only thing I still don't collect is venom. Seems too complicated to do with the same bees

Yes I can only sympathise with your situation. I think you have probably done well to adapt and survive. 👏

Congratulations on the fourty years continuous supply Trevor, not many can say that, we have lost all the shops like that I am afraid even near a Cathedral City which should see many tourists

Thank you Kev. You’re right, in this fast changing world most people won’t get the chance for such long business relationships. I’m still intending to ring you.🤞😄

@ great article in the magazine Trevor, it hopefully shows that you can farm bees without having to spend multiple thousands in one hit to get established and keeping it simple reallly works

@@beekeeperkev I like a low input type of system. I don’t always get huge crops but it seems more sustainable. Thanks Kev.

Would the fire not melt the comb Trevor?
@swaleshoney16 сағат бұрын
Hi Peter. Providing any comb is kept 4-5 feet away it won’t melt. I do have to be careful though.
