This swallowing screen demonstration was done to a provide BC Emergency Departments a full understanding of how to conduct a swallowing screen.
The video was done as part of a provincial Stroke & TIA Improvement Collaborative for the Clinical Care Management Initiative.

Weird that they show the nurse can do swollowing assessment... I was told in my area that it would either be a doctor, speech therapist or dietitian that can do that.

1:48 left sided weakness of the brain or the tongue? I am assuming it is left sided brain resulting in hemiplegia on the right so therefore tongue sticks to the left?
