"Saudamani, a bright young girl, is in love with her neighbor, Narendra, and hopes to marry him soon. But her mother and uncle have chosen Ghanshyam for her. Wow. Watched this superhit movie again after many many years. Beautiful acting by late Girish Karnad. Late Utpal Dutt was brilliant. Shabana and Suresh really endear with their romantic chemistry. A young wife's dilemma in accepting her hubby while her heart is elsewhere back in those days is a joy to watch even today. One of the old classics that is simply unmatched and incomparable. Beautiful songs and such enchanting rustic setting of Bengal. The movie brings out the emotional aspirations of youngsters so deftly. All actors had done justice to their characters. A treasure really. Salutes to Basu Chatterjee for leaving such a wonderful movie for coming generations.

sachme, pata nahin tha, yeh itni romantic film hogi. palvar mein yeh kya hogaya, yeh gaana, kareeb 20 saal hogaya, ustime bachpan mein, radio mein pehli baar suna tha. tabse hi, is gaane ka deewana hogaya. Lataji ka best gaano mein se yeh best hai. lekin bahut badi galati hogayi, is film ko nazar-andaz karke. film toh memorable hai hi, kya background music hai, kya varish ka nazaara hai, kya sabka adakara hai, kya climax hai, 20 baar dekhna toh banta hai...

specially, pehle 40 minutes ka baat kuchh aur hai..kya silent love hai..kya propose style hai..kya khushi aur romance hai..uspe jo monsoon scenes hai..wo dialogue jaise sabkuchh mere liye saja ke taiyar kiya gaya ho..mazaa aagaya. lekin yehi sach hai, khushi limit mein aata hai..humlog zindagi var paisa..jagah..ghar etc tensions ke peechhe vagte rehte hain..aur khushi bin bulaye milta hai..lekin paisa lutake sirf tensions hi milta hai😂😂
