This video is a must watch for youth! Esp. about "looking cool" - which ultimately is a desire for respect and acceptance in teenage years based on the wrong idea of true happiness. So many youth unfortunately get affected by this , sometimes leading to harmful situations like drug addiction, alcoholism, etc. Having the right values and beliefs stemming from the right knowledge is so important in formative years so that one can develop the right attitude towards life's challenges. Kudos and much gratitude to JKYog and Swamiji for bringing this priceless wisdom free of cost world over. Anyone can benefit from this!

I think that because happiness is our nature, we contemplate happiness everywhere or in other words search for happiness in the outer world. This is like someone who has lost a treasure inside the house is looking for it outside and when someone asked why he is searching outside when it is lost inside, he said because there is light outside whereas the inside is dark. This is also our story.

What creates attachment? It happens when we repeatedly contemplate happiness in an object or person. In the process, neurons get fired and wired, creating neural pathways. This thought now becomes natural. Further, the contemplation leads to attachment. This is how we become addicted. That's why even though the cigarette box says that they are injurious to health, the addict continues to smoke because of repeated contemplation of happiness in it. Such an enlightening message by Swamiji!

The entire world today contemplates happiness is 1. Money 2. fame 3. relationships 4. body etc. No doubt depression is on a rise, people are so gloomy and despondent. While it is a universal fact that death looms on all of us and we go empty handed. Covid 19 has claimed so many unsuspecting lives suddenly further reinstating this universal fact of uncertainty and no happiness in material realm. This book is so vital to guide the lost masses, as to where the true permanent solution to our problems lie.

Keeping our awareness, our mind in the moment, and thinking that the next moment we could be dead is a good reminder for sure! There is no point in contemplating on material things. Thanks to Pujya Swamiji!

Contemplating on bodily happiness gets the mind attached and that becomes a habit. which takes forever to break because if you take the h out of habit a bit is left and if you take a out of it a bit is left and if you take the b out of habit, it is left. So make a habit of right contemplation

We are carrying our tendencies from infinite lifetimes. In any of our births, we already have desires. When we regularly contemplate on a subject or person or anything, our mind creates continuous desires based on where the attachment is, and that ultimately ends in greed, anger or suffering. Changing our thoughts and desires towards divine direction is must for us in our birth🙏

Our minds often form attachments as a way of seeking familiarity, comfort, or meaning, creating a sense of connection in a complex world. Emotions, experiences, and perceived value contribute to the formation of these attachments, shaping our mental landscapes.❤

Attachment happens when we repeatedly contemplate happiness somewhere. This is the critical piece of information in the whole logic. What a beautiful statement. Unless we know how attachment happens, we will not be able to break it. If the attachment is not broken then the other consequences like greed, anger, desire will catch hold of us. This is really critical. Without this information we can do nothing to stop the mind from contemplation on objects.
@danaguha4 жыл бұрын
It is indeed a vicious and recursive cycle. This cycle of pleasure and craving and anger is difficult to break, it is only with conscious decision and guidance from knowledgeable Guru like Swamiji, that it could be possible.

Always awestruck with your explanations SwamiJi. We learnt the cause of suffering in this world is desire and now we are learning that desires arise out to attachment. Attachment arises because we keep contemplating on the happiness we get from materialistic thing and people. In order to overcome attachment we must, not contemplate on things we experience that give us a kick in life nor think about the people we meet and keep contemplating on how they make us feel. Instead we should focus on the present, invest our mind and thoughts in the Supreme Lord and then the process pf detachment will start.

The net of thoughts are not easy to break. Our habits show that. One who is addicted to cigarette smoking will find it very difficult to give up the habit. So it is with any other habit. Not falling into its clutches in the first place would be a better option.
