@ Jennifer Schweichler Nope, MARSH rabbit (Sylvilagus palustris) is a different breed. The SWAMP rabbit (Sylvilagus aquaticus) is in fact a subspecies of the standard cottontail. Case in point. As @ Antione Berry stated, it is the largest subspecies of cottontail. In fact, it can grow up 5lbs and I’ve seen some that likely were more given good forage. Whereas the marsh rabbit described in the video you linked barely reach 2.5lbs on average, the narrator even described it as smaller than an Eastern Cottontail.

That is because Swamp Rabbits can swim since they are used to it, but pet rabbits get hypothermia and could die if they get too wet

Wild rabbits and let rabbits are two separate species. Domesticated rabbits can die if they're soaked in water.

Maybe they meant one that was dropped into the water by a person?
@Cillana3 ай бұрын
@@SpokenBroke The rabbit in Jeff's video is not a Swamp Rabbit. He put a domestic rabbit in the water and lied about it. Either that or the animal rehabbers are dumb and can't tell a swamp rabbit from an eastern cottontail from a wild-type colored domestic rabbit.

This is a myth. There are 176 different species of mosquitoes that are native to North America. It's specifically the _Aedes aegypti_ specie of mosquito (the one that carries the Zika virus) that is not native to North America.
