Swann's battle style was one of the best of his era. Then the multi-syllable era came and overpowered his style. Then shortly after that, the freestyle battle era died and the written acappella era took over and left the freestyle battle MCs in obscurity.. Respect to Swann he definitely carved out a place in battle rap history. Salute.

Would have been dope to see him try his hand in the written battle era, but who knows. Life happens, and maybe he just moved on to other endeavors. Or maybe he felt that he didn't have anything else to prove. In my opinion, I think that he battled in a more competitive era anyway. Being a champion in a freestyle battle tournament like Scribble Jam meant something back then. To me, being the best battle rapper today isn't saying much because most of the battles aren't even judged.
