Comprehensive review on a seemingly good product. Looks like I'll be investing in one.

Thanks for the feedback. Swanndri can still do the hard yards.

At last, somebody thought it through, I have a bush shirt and I love it, what I don't like is everything else coming off when you remove the damn thing

Nice review with the pros and cons. I'll have to save some money for that, i've thought about the original bush shirt but i think that is better. I dont think thats too expensive. They should tell their "secret" recipe. Usually the treatments wear away and should be retreated. I quess it is some mixture of lanolin, which is pretty common treatment for wool garments. I use it now and then for my wooly stuff.

Thanks bro. I may stand in the back yard with a hose over my head and see what happens, as a test. Not much bush time at the moment lol. Thanks for your response about the cost differences.

Thanks for the great review Dave. I have a question with the size, you said size large, it looks pretty roomy. My wife and I want to get one for her dad for birthday gift. What is your height and weight if you don’t mind me asking? I looked at sizing chart on website and was thinking extra large as it says 107cm to 111cm for the chest, which would be Pa n law’s size. He would be about 185cm tall and 95kg ( a bit of a puke! 😉) what do ya think? Cheers mate.

I am 167cm tall and about 84kg. I tried on the Medium and Large in the store and the Large was definately the most comfortable fit, also taking into account that I could be wearing a couple of layers under the Swanndri. XL sounds like a good size for your Dad but the store should be able to exchange if needed.

I found that the pocket lining material isn’t that warm. I feel like a big upgrade would be making the pockets out of a more thermal material. Other than that I love mine. Mine is pretty waterproof. Nice informative video!

Great point. I hadn't looked at that before. The pocket lining looks like a cotton/poly blend. Appears to be quite robust but not very warm, as you say.
@schlooonginator1227
@schlooonginator1227 3 жыл бұрын
Would hope that lining is not cotton. Sure cotton feels nice and soft but its horrible when wet,stays wet and acts like a heat sink if its cold. That would greatly diminish the effectiveness of such a garment yet I have seen other wool products make this bizarre choice.

The wool is NZ but manufacturing is in China. The quality control is good and it is a high quality garment. Mfg in China is the way of the world at the moment unfortunately but it has allowed Swanndri to stay in business and to expand their product range.

@@southernlandsolo7839 I get it dude, but that's a mighty rich price for cut in NZ, stiched in China. F**k China. F**k made in China. F**k slavery. If this message isn't rammed home to companies they'll not stop.

@@southernlandsolo7839 NZ bush and mountain ranges look epic. I've always wanted to come and nearly moved there five years ago before the wife decided she wanted to go home instead, (UK / USA). Made in Britain and Ireland, USA, NZ, AUZ this all will only come back if we demand it.
