The tempo totally changes the feeling of the song from the mad scramble of, and for, lust wished for in the Stooges original version into a desperate wish for forgiveness and hollowness from the other party and an ultimate bleak emptiness . A brilliant interpretation.

@@BlPlN Glad you like my list. I went through your favorites and there are quite a few bands and artists we both cherish. Seemingly you also have a very wide range of musical tastes, but I'm a little surprised that there's no John Cale in your list. Whether you're not to familiar with him or dislike him I don't know, but he is definitely worth listening to. I consider him to possibly be the most versatile musician around, always rearranging his songs and music, and also one of the most influential personalities in the development of alternative music. Here are a few links to some songs, you might want to give a try. As you're into Eno, both did a collaboration on the Wrong Way Up LP in the early 90's:kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5mWc36uYqx3r9E This one is with Nick Cave:kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqfIoKd3rZisn6s This one is from the 60's, recorded beside working with The Velvets:kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqrIZIuLaaqnjac Hope you enjoy.

Iggy Pop has rated Swans for decades, so I doubt he would have a problem with this version. Mike Gira was massively influenced by The Stooges, notably "We Will Fall".

Isn't this from The World of Skin (ca: 1989 Gira/Jarboe)? Either way, it's good to hear it again. Thanks for posting.

I did some looking: it was the bonus track for the CD version of Shame, Humility, Revenge (by Skin) from 1988. I had never heard it before since I've only heard the vinyl tracklisting.
