How did you get the light to work? As you said the blue black wire wasn’t connected??

Great idea! I've had a transfer case and shifter from a D1 in my garage for 2 years but I've been reluctant to fit it because I was worried that (with my luck) I'd be removing a perfectly good transfer case and replacing it with one that's on it's last legs. Never occured to me to separate the CDL and fit that by itself.

Hi sorry for not replying sooner. The only thing I would consider if I were to do it again is about float differences on the bearing surface. I saw someone’s video that had the TC out and they talked about shimming before reconnecting the case together. I’m not sure if I had any issues but due to dire rust I had to scrap the vehicle. 😟

so how many bolts hold the Lock to the central Diff? Were any of them very hard to get at?
