Was Pretty in White , ate a deer , replaced it with a Lexon clear hood , fab drill and fit like a glove , kept motor compartment and motor spotless , looked cool , see through , only one around , unique and you don’t need to lift the hood to see everything , that’s why I went psi pipe, and Blumm industries , Flame Thrower 130 high beams 100 low beams , lightbulb , freaking awesome light ! Can’t run them in two bulb headlights , only single bulb , worth they’re weight in Gold ! Plus change

Should have kept the 98 XC 700 , 220 jugs , Pretty in White , but did keep the 94 RXL , Pretty in all light blue , low rider , SKS 133.5 , and maybe 3/4 paddles ! Snow must not have been that deep that year , but really good snow in 98 ! I remember

I just went thru this very thing yesterday restoring a 133.5 inch skid from a 1993 indy 500 Classic touring. Thank you Nutter for confirming what I was thinking. I will keep an eye on performance out in here in the Boston area. Thanks for the tip on the spring compressor. I have a shock king tool for compressing the spring and it worked but it not easy. Great video! I will buy you a beer over on patreon.

So I just worked a video of someone called the tracker guy he has a Barn full of old snowmobiles he said to contact him if you see something you are interested in buying he had several scorpions in the mix just thought I'd let you know
@alaskarailroad39962 жыл бұрын
My question is... your new shock body lengths are longer. I believe that will limit compression travel, creating bottoming.
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
I thought I covered that pretty well in the video. It's close, but it should be OK. The shocks don't use all of the travel.

Another good video Nutter! You’re right, you did get lucky on how it went. I’m rarely that lucky, I usually get the seized or bent cross shafts, what a pain 😒 Sounds like the XLT will be on the snow soon! It’s such a nice looking sled, how are you going to ride them all🤷🏼♂️ Cheers!

One at a time Rob! That's how I ride them all LOL!

I have a request ... on this build would you show in depth how to set the carbs so my 600 launches like I've seen your xlt's do in previous videos ?
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Sure. Hoping to get to the carbs today. I'll keep this in mind.

Love the videos keep them coming. I'm waiting for parts to put in a new fuel in-tank filter and tygon line in out 96 XLT Special. Sled keeps running out of fuel and the fuel pump only has about 10 hours on it. Orobably replace the impulse line also. The other 96 XLT I bought this spring for $700 runs great and is a little crotch rocket so my daughter now rides that one and I get the one that's not running. That's ok though because we always ride together.
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't use tygon for anything because I have seen it swell up. Try a polyurethane line in your tank. If the tygon (or really any type of line) inside the tank has swelled you will suck air from the fuel tank. I use the "compression ring" in my tanks most of the time. I talk about it in an upcoming video, which you will see on Patreon long before the rest of the world. check on patreon later today for the part number. I'm also going to show it in the video whenever it gets released on YT.

@@nuttersspeedshop I haven't replaced the fuel pick up line in the tank yet so yes I will use polyurethane line instead of tygon. Appreciate the advice.

Hey! Love the videos. I live about 20 min from you. Trying to find an XLT clutch that isn't a rusty pitted mess, I already have one of those. 😄 where to go besides FB and ebay??

I don't have any secret places for you locally. Toddy Clyne did a video at a sled wrecking yard up in Hibbing recently. Maybe try them?

I get a little nervous when everything goes great on a skid. Like just saying it out loud will piss off the skid gods
