I do appreciate all the little tips and tricks. I haven’t worked on a lot of these so every little bit helps.

You and the reverse chain cases. Where I am from in Canada....finding a reverse set up for those sleds is darn near impossible. I`d love to set up my 1977 or 1980 TX with one!

I have one on a 1980 TXC. It took some modifications to the exhaust - had to dent it in to make clearnce.

Awesome choice on the track i always loved the lightning bolt 1.25s. They really help with the side to side sway, especially comparing it to your other option

Happy New Year Nutter! Nice choice on the lightning track, by far the better option compared to the other 👍. That darn bolt is such a pain in the butt! It’s really to bad Polaris didn’t come up with a better design for that, would have saved a lot of unneeded suspension and track removals🙄

On that smooth threaded sleeve inside the chain case........Try cleaning with brake cleaner, then wrap some inner tube strips around it.....then maybe your beer can layer. Might be less slippage with no damage. Only thing is the pre heat might get the inner tube smokin. Please show your ideas on how to check and adjust chain tension on that case once its all assembled. Im dealing with a '98 reverse case that I dont wanna open up right now. Thanks
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Once it's assembled - you need to reference the bar parking lot chain tension procedure. Turn the secondary to put all the slack to the front. Then tighten the bolt as tight as you can with your fingers. Bare fingers, no wrenches or pliers. Then back off one flat.

Looking great! Thanks for the info on swaping those parts on the inner chain case. Are you guys going to be at Triple Wars in Elk River?

Thanks for all of your informative and entertaining videos! I have a 1984 Indy 600 and I am going to swap out the original track with a Polaris .82" track with 96 studs. The tunnel has aluminum wear strips. But is it safe to run the studs with that sled, or should I remove the studs? I'm worried about the clearance between the track and the front heat exchanger. Thanks and Happy New Year!
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Lots of people have done that through the years. Just keep your track tight and you should be OK.

Thank you for all the great videos. What do you use for your chain case replacement bearings? Would you ever replace just the chain case bearings, or always all 4 of them, both jackshaft and drive shaft bearings?
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
There's a link to the 6205 bearings in the description. I use either FKG or XIKE brands. I think they have better quality control than the cheaper bearings. It's not worth it to use a $25 bearing. For the clutch side I use RB Tech SB205-16. For the price, do them all at once.

I appreciate the response. I didnt realize the bogie wheels used the same bearings as in the chaincase. I already have a stack of those bearings. Thank you!

Cheers 2023 Nutter! Any chance you'll get into a Centurion or ColtSS? Awesome channel! Thanks!
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Either could happen. I've done a few Colts before I started the channel. I also used to own a Centurion and i have parts to make another one happen. Maybe with a 650 LOL!

Hey Nutter I know it’s off topic but I’m in the middle of taking apart the brake and clutch assembly on my 74 tx 250 to replace the bearings. I cannot get the lower bearing to break free from the drive shaft. Any suggestions? I’m referring to the lower chain case bearing
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Start with Kroil and let it sit for a day. This has worked for me many times. You might want to consider drilling a hole in the belly pan so you can use a punch on the drive shaft and then get a plug for the hole later. 1/2" steel round makes a good punch. Put an old bolt in the driveshaft to protect the threads. If you don't want to drill a hole the options get more difficult.
@andyceranski68232 жыл бұрын
@@nuttersspeedshop I’ll definitely try that. Thanks for your response!

How do you get an accurate spacing for drives ?
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Best way is to put the driveshaft in with no track and find the center. Then use the track to set the spacing. If you have an old junk track cutting a couple feet of it out make a nice tool for this rather than working inside a complete track.
@nuttersspeedshop2 жыл бұрын
Since you are putting new drivers on that Ultra you can probably just go by the marks left by the old drivers.
