Swapping Fountain Pens and Inks with

When I get a sticker that I really like I will often scan it into my computer. Then I can print copies on regular paper and stick them down using a roll-on adhesive.

What a great idea! I scanned some of my childhood stickers that I’ve kept for all these years, but I haven’t done anything with them yet. In my mind I was going to use my iPad as a planner and make digital stickers. But that still hasn’t happened, haha.

What a great idea and to follow through with it. I had a pen pal that I had offered to do something like this and she declined. 😅 I guess you have to find the “write” person to share an experience like this with..happy you found someone. TYFS! ❣️✨🖋

Simone wasn't shy and jumped at the chance! 😂 I don't think I'd share with just anyone, but I have watched her long enough that I knew I could trust her to take care of my pens. She's awesome!

Also: the tape = PET tape. I purchased this roll from niconeco zakaya and the artist is Aiko Fukawa and I could buy all the things that they design because I love the whimsical style.

OMG, the idea of lending pens is amazing!! You’re both forging a new frontier!❤🖋✨🌸 Your comment about silence in a video is a good one. For some weird reason, I enjoy silence in others’ content as an aspect of “voice/personality”, but I have a dysfunctional dread of silence in my own. Why are we such apologists when it comes to our own authentic voices?

I enjoy silence from other people, too. I'm specifically thinking of Maria Rosseau. She takes her time and thinks about what she's going to say, and will spend time writing or inking a pen and just being quiet. It feels like sitting with a friend! I have felt like I needed to really plan my videos out, but maybe I'll start taking it a little more slowly and quietly sometimes. Thanks for your kind comment!

This is so exciting ! Great idea to swap pens for testing. I don‘t know if I would dare lend my pens to someone, though… 😬 On the other hand, I don‘t even know anyone here in Germany who would be interested in such a concept… 😂 I have both pens you got from Simone and am looking forward to hearing what you think of them after trying each one out for a while. As for the inks, I love Diamine Deep Magenta and Noodler‘s Cactus Fruit Eel as well, have both of them and use them a lot in my pens. That Leonardo Furore is a stunner, I would love to get my hands on one. So far I only own a couple of Momento Zeros. And yes, the original version of the Estie Evergreen has silver hardware - at least mine does… but maybe you were able to choose like with other Esties ? I got mine second hand… 😊 Thanks for sharing, love your content !

Thank you so much! 🥰 I was a bit nervous about sending my pens through the mail, but I know Simone will take good care of them! I wouldn’t lend them to just anyone! And I am planning on doing an update on these pens and inks this Friday. It’s only been a week, but I already have a lot of thoughts! Do you find your Cactus Fruit Eel stays smudgy for a long time? Perhaps I just need a new bottle. And I’m not sure if the original Evergreen came in both hardware colors, but I think this re-release only came with gold. Which is perfect for me! Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry for taking 3 days to respond!

@@gingerpeachy Thanks for responding and no worries regarding the time. :) About the Cactus Fruit Eel staying smudgy (or any other ink for that matter), I wouldn‘t know. I‘m in the habit of using blotting paper in every book and insert I have in my rotation and I normally write, put the blotting paper in and shut the book, so I don‘t worry about the ink still being wet. 🤷‍♀️

I love Diamine Deep Magenta! I got a sample of it a few years ago, have used it all up, and I plan to get a bottle next time I make a pen order.

I think a lot of us are in the same boat with not a lot (if any) real life pen friends. I really enjoyed the laid back chatty form of this video. So glad you are seemownay were able to loan some pens to each other. It will be interesting sting to see what you think of them.

Thanks Amy! I think people who live near pen stores probably have the easiest time making IRL pen friends. I want to start a club in my city but I haven’t figured out how to get the word out to the right people!

I have several of these little guys from Ink-a-Pet! Ink-a-Pet ink vial holders are designed and 3D-printed by a young boy named Calvin, and his parents help him run the business. It’s so much fun! Have you touched the zebra G nib? Maybe there are oils on it that need to be washed off with some dish soap?

Um I think Zebra G nibs have a shelf life. I think I heard that while great for flexing, they do need to be replaced after some use. Double check that, but that could be the issue.

I have heard the same. This is a Brause Blue Pumpkin. It’s not stretched out or anything - it hasn’t been used a ton. I think it’s probably from the oils on my hands taking it in and out of the holder! I washed it with dish soap and it seems better now! Thanks for the suggestion though.

I was so happy when I looked it up afterwards and I was right! Because I don't believe I've ever handled ebonite - at least on a fountain pen - before. I'm actually starting to really love it on this pen!
