Don't Say I told you so, But what LB7 Doesn't need injectors swapped out? Got a new set of Bosch Stock Injectors and its ready to rip for awhile...so I hope!

Or, for a $50 shop fee, send your truck to the local vocational diesel mechanic school for the injector work -- you'll wait 3 - 4 weeks for completion, but it's FREE!! I'll be doing it a second time soon.

@damsama3414 almost every county in the country has a "vocational school" and one of the courses is often "diesel mechanic". Google searching is your friend. Call your local high school.

This was a doable thing some years ago but nowadays they've got shop vehicles for every class. I did this same theory with clearing an engine light on my car in highschool, my dad told me to bring it there or maybe the advance auto guy did. I ended up being a mechanic and here we are 20 years later I'm jumping into the diesel world. It's hard to make enough money in this industry working for any shops unless your the boss or really good at bringing your skills from work home to your side jobs.

Oil pressure on my lb7 when it’s warm sits at like 25-30psi at idle and 50-80psi when casual driving

Great video, thank you sir. I have an 02 LB7 with 190k on it and its got the warrantied injectors on it but i had to replace the fuel filter housing O-rings when i got it so who knows how long my set of injectors have left. Ill do it myself like you and save a fortune. Also these trucks having a big alternator and 2 batteries are an amplifiers best friend 😂

When you’re having problems priming, have a buddy turn the key, while you blow compressed air in the tank with a clean rag to seal it. This stops over pressure of the tank (as the rag bleeds pressure) whilst forcing a steady stream of fuel up hill to the pump

I have been putting mine off... Because the previous owner didn't do it right so its leaking fuel in the oil

There is a extra hole in hood hing that makes hood go 90deg up so you can get to engine

should of went with sac style injectors s&s 00. better spray nozzle supposed to last wayyyyy longer

the hardened ball and seat on the new bosch injectors fixed alot of the vco issues. sac is definitely the way to go but new vcos arent terrible anymore for the price

I am working on one of these SOB's that has 6 injectors stuck so bad the injector puller will not budge them. What a piece of crap built engine. Also broke off 2 of the hold down bolts trying to get them out. Wouldn't ever buy another one of these duramax junkers.

And had to pull the engine even get at the injectors. The truck is a 5000 series. Should have been built with a tip up cab.

Where did you buy the injectors themselves from and how have they been? I’m thinking DMAXSTORE? 3 year warranty with no cores?

I bought new Bosch injectors from them, and the install kit, which was complete. The injectors are the latest iteration from Bosch, with harder seats , the same injectors GM installs. I also bought their Bosch factory reman CP3 and kit. All items have been as expected and inj direct have been top notch to work with. I like that they’ll hold a card on file giving you 30 days to get the cores back to them before they hit for the deposit. They’ll still return the deposit after 30 days, but not paying it is nice, and 30 days gives you time for any unforeseen issues in install. I did mine over 4 days working half days on it. Leaving plenty of shipping time. Total was around 2500 for everything, shop wanted 7500 parts and labor and 5-6 days to do it. I don’t know what issues others have had but my experience has been top notch. Just for the record I got my water pump kit from merchant and they’re also top shelf in my book.
