Swarm Install March 28, 2024

We caught a swarm at the bee ranch last week. We are moving it home for a couple of weeks, and then we'll move it back to the bee ranch.
The move is necessary because we want to permanently place the colony just a few yards from where they established themselves. If we don't move the bees at least two miles away, the foragers will keep going back to their old home.
We have been keeping bees since 2016. We are hobbyist beekeepers who started out with 2 hives in our backyard. After about a year, we discovered how quickly a colony can become too defensive to be kept in a neighborhood. Now we've got our bees outside of town on 10 acres.
Even after 8 years, we consider ourselves as newbie beeks, and we learn new things every season. The videos are mostly for our own consumption, but if you are watching, you are welcome to watch and we hope you find them informative.
