Donut you are right. When I hear just what the victim was saying on the call, my gut started to cramp. A shotgun, hard drugs, violence, active assault. The day just went down the crapper. Let's bring out the arty. Really this would be a great time for a remote controlled armed drone they are so worried about. But it seems it will take a very cool officer to resolve the problem once and for all. People will call me cruel and a tyrant, they will say the poor man needed medical help, and so on. Not that it's super significant or anything but wanted to point that out because having been a dispatcher for the greater Sacramento area, for what ever reason you can dial 911 for an emergency in Sacramento and the surrounding sub-cities and be forwarded to the wrong department. Kinda crazy when you think about it. Love your content keep it up brother!

Also, in California cell phones traditionally connect with highway patrol. The CHP dispatcher will then route the call to the correct jurisdiction dispatcher.

I live in WA, Pierce CO has a system where when you call 911 you are connected with a dispatcher who will ask if you need police, or fire/medical (fire will sometimes show up to a medical call as firefighters are cross trained as paramedics/EMT. You are then transferred to a police dispatcher for police or a fire dispatcher for fire/med. My mom was a 911 dispatcher and I grew up in the centers, I even had my own badge in one of the agencies she worked for as I was just that cute at 5-8 and was always welcome to visit. It's actually kind of a strange system to me to transfer to a different 911 center in an emergency. I had to call 911 in Pierce once and it was a very odd experience being handed off to someone else.

She didn’t accidentally call CHP, in California when you call 911 from a cell phone it routes to CHP automatically. If you need local emergency services you either have to get transferred via CHP or call your local agencies emergency landline number.

That's the only concluion I can think of. So it's easier for the State to ge the call instead of say some small town PD that doesn't know how to transfer calls

As someone who's had to live around meth heads & worked with meth heads, while not doing meth myself, this felt so cathartic to watch. Over & over & over & over again. Each time I would think of an idiotic meth head moment. Like coming to the theater that I managed to see a meth head (hired through a friend that also managed there) scrubbing an antique table so hard that she had removed an inch of the wood. Or waking up one day to find a meth head melting plastic plates to a stove top. Because, as he said, we wouldn't have to clean the burners anymore. I'm going to watch the video again....

Once when our father was drunk and looking for a fight he had pulled out his shotgun on myself and my brother. Nobody called the police that night though and we went to a friend's house that night. Really shocking how same events can have drastically different endings

Pulling a shotgun on someone isn't looking for a fight ,that's looking to kill someone.. here in Scotland a fight means anything from knuckles to bats ,you pull a knife or gun then intent goes from a fighting to a killing, crazy how 2 countries can have such differing definition's of " fighting"

You and Brandon should make 1 channel. I think he could do like the education on guns themselves and how to use them, and you could take that knowledge and shift it over to real life situations. There are these 2 guys I watch that react to footage of self defense incidents and I think that's all the collab Channel would be missing You have a Neutral perspective on education of firearms, An ex cop perspective on cop stuff; and a civilian perspective for the rest of us that love to watch but would never be a cop for whatever reason medical moral or personal. I'd personally like to thank you for helping to keep my opinions neutral. You are my go to for the Polices side of a story. I like to swing around the isle a bit, but when I swing right, that's where you come in and thank God for you. Even my gf which has no interest what so ever regarding anything Police related, will ask be to put on "The donut guy with the mustache" cause you're just that iconic. Much Love!

Highway patrol kicking it to the SO reminds me of a story I heard a while back. A suicidal subject called 911 and was on a boat in some bay in CA. The SO or some kind of geolocation promptly kicked the call to the CG station. The stations comms are usually manned by E2 or E3 coasties. Literally their job is to take calls for regular station business and act as an extra set of ears on the radio for the CG sector that actually does all of the SAR planning. So some 19 year old, with no formal crisis intervention training, got a call from a suicidal subject and had to deal with it.
