It's The Iliad used bookstore in North Hollywood, which regionally (and for book people) is pretty famous. They removed the name sign and columns around the entrance at the beginning, which is why the paint is plain instead of the mural - the horse on the book was an instant giveaway to me. It's not all that big inside, maybe 50 by 120 feet, with office and counter space taking up some of that, they're just using camera tricks to make it feel bigger (all the "we passed by 3 shelves and cut to another angle" for example). There are also a couple of book cats.

Why was the Quran so important other than being really old and valuable? Or was that it.
@amitkenan3878 Жыл бұрын
Its great importance to their religion. It's like putting Jesus' sandals up for sale

The Qu'ran is compatible to the Bible or Torah in terms of theological significance. But considering what we can see of that book and what we know of American TV, I would say this was more to do with the financial than theological
@climaxActual Жыл бұрын
The Muslims call it Al-Quran. It's importance it like that of the Bible. The only difference is that It is absolutely a serious issue on any matter that involves the Al-Quran. The book was written to guide the Islamic religion to the path of prosperity and faith. There are millions of Al-Quran copies around. I think this book was more like the Original or close to the Original book before.

It is sad that it was stolen, and even more sad that, once stolen, it was stripped, and sold piecemeal, by the ignorant. Especially since, had they done it “right”, they could have had it auctioned off at Sotheby’s, where all stolen at and artifacts get auctioned off. They would have really made bank, even with Sotheby’s cut. But instead, being basically ignorant Americans who think looting ancient artifacts is just fine, especially while taking their government’s cheque at the same time … they are like the British, but a lower class of thief.

what's the context here, why were they after this specific book
@CarlosHuiskens Жыл бұрын
@@rohithratnam1744 The Book was seemingly the oldest version of the Koran that was housed in Syria. It had jewels embedded on the book and therefore was an extremely valuble and priceless artifact. The woman with the book stole it from her Ex-boyfriend who was a soldier stationed in Syria who stole it while in that country. She picked off the jewels and sold them to her boss who's a jewler and after claiming to know nothing about the book she tried to sell the book as well in this bookstore. That's why those men where after her. In the end she got arrested as well.
