Swatching the New Kuretake Art Nouveau set

Hi again everyone!
In this impromptu video, I'll be swatching and sharing my thoughts on the brand new Kuretake Gansai Tambi Art Nouveau 24 colour set. Spoiler alert: they’re awesome!
All the colours haven’t been featured in previous sets and they’re very unique.
There’s something for everyone: opaque, transparent, pastel, muted… pretty exciting stuff.

UPDATE: The set seems to be out of stock both on UK and US for the time being (25/11/2022). These look so gorgeous! Thank you for sharing them. Several people have contacted me to tell me about these paints (because they're muted, they're SO my type of colours!) but they seem to be out of stock everywhere.

I've been tempted to try Gansai but I was hesitant since they're often more expensive that standard watercolours and I already have a heap of them 😅 But now I watched your videos and I think I'll take the leap. Thank you very much! Love from the other side of Ireland 💕

Oh you’re welcome! They behave more like gouache than watercolour, but definitely fun to use 😊

@@coloredcarol8074 Well, they're meant to be used with Japanese/Chinese brushes that hold an ungodly amount of water. Probably that way they're more transparent I imagine...

Hi Lindy, thanks for telling me. They seem to be sold out on the UK at the moment ☹️ It was available before as I bought mine there. You can check from time to time if it comes back or alternatively get it from the US if you don’t want to wait.

Hi, there isn’t any pigment info on the box so It’s hard to say. I remember Kimcrick did lightfastness tests in their other paints and many were fugitive, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some in this set are also fugitive. Still fun to use though :)

When a manufacturer refuses to share pigment information it virtually guarantees that they are using fugitive pigments. Pretty colors but I wouldn't trust them for any artwork that I would put any of my heart into.

Hi, it’s a Royal & Lanickel flat brush 10, I got it in a small set many years ago together with some Finetec watercolours I think.
