Regarding the children giggling: It's a mod called "Eyes in the Darkness". Basically it spawns ghosts that try to sneak up on you. But as the mod's name implies, you can only see the eyes of the ghosts, which can be hard to spot, so they also make a giggling sound to warn you that they are closeby. The jumpscare that follows the giggling means the ghosts got Swayle.
