No ! she wasn't ! They NEVER asked Stephanie nor considered her for the role of Dorothy in the film version. She even said those same words in an Essence Magazine interview some years back. I thank God every day that it was Diana Ross who was Dorothy because she was brilliant and allowed the visual concept of OZ to go in an entirely new and modern direction. Ross was also responsible for getting Michael Jackson cast as the Scarecrow, and because of Michael meeting Quincy Jones on set, the world got THRILLER, and we watched Michael Jackson change the music industry. None of that would have happened with Stephanie Mills. Get over it people and stop crying over this same stupid false lie because she wasn't Dorothy in the film, and I'm SO HAPPY about that !
