@OceansOfMotionStudios5 жыл бұрын
@@brotherel3424 depends on if you consider freeverse the same as a freestyle. It's basically the equivalent of the trap vs rap argument which is equally nonsensical in my opinion. Some people trap isn't real hip hop, but if you look up trap music Push T pops up and so does Denzel Curry as well as Drake (yep definitely not a rappers in any sense, all trap music). Point is freeverse is free styling, some songs rely heavily on riding the beat or working in unison with them to pull off certain cadence or flow. Production can be just as integral to how well a song works as the rapper on the beat (definitely depends), changing that can mess up structure and rhyme scheme and yea it can always be worked around but being able to make any verse work with any beat is something not everyone can do. Even some top notch level artists have had at least one slip up over the years however big or small. Is it a "real" freestyle? Not in the sense it's off the top. Do some people have a subjective idea on what a freestyle can be do to today's day and age of rapidly changing music scenes? Yea. In the end though that's all my opinion same as how you are entitled to yours, no offense intended.

I can't believe that we are still having this 'prewritten' conversation in 2019. The term freestyle has evolved from 'off the top' or 'on the spot' to prepared writtens for specific occassions (although on the spot freestyles are still accepted, respected and celebrated as the original form of freestyling). Where have you been the last 15 years? Freestyles on the spot are fine from time to time but the rapper is very limited in depth and scope lyrically using this method. EVERY respected platform/outlet in Hip Hop has accepted this method because it allows us to see the true penmanship of the artist which in turn allows us to see their TRUE TALENT. Hearing a bunch of irrelevant on spot non sense that barely makes sense just isn't as relevant anymore (although it does take skill). It's SAD that I even have to explain this shit. People really expose just how out of touch they are with Hip Hop when they bring this up. It shows how much of a casual fan you are.

Bro said a lot!. HE SAID THE MOST! So worried about the war, we ain't even fixin the pipes. oh my gauuud. Dude mind works incredibly fast, but his ability to correct his focus and rap about what he wants at will,(while maintaining his vibe) rather than following his pre programming. Very unique and definitely one of the best! Very gifted, but a mind like that has built itself to greatness no doubt. Thank you Sway, never heard of this guy til now

Dude is better than Kendrick, y'all say that just because he got a name in the biz, but 100s of cats are trueer spitters than Kendrick Duckworth FACTS!

BANANAS ☢☣ Best freestyle I have ever heard in my 24 years of listening to hip hop...period !!! He just fed gems and diamonds of knowledge and wisdom at 23 years old !!! He is at an ungodly level of ability. This is how I'll explain his talent...He is Black Thought's mirror image prototype !! Salute to Oswin Benjamin and congrats on your hard earned and well deserved success.

OG, check out battle rapper Daylyt's funk flex freestyle. Its on his youtube channel. Even though its not an official funk flex freestyle, he murdered that 'Renegade' instrumental.

I don't hear Black Thought in Oswin at all. Can you tell me the relation?
@traiball70632 жыл бұрын
@@professorXcross probably just the fact they both did 10 minute freestyles, that’s normally enough to draw comparisons these days
