Here I am a Navy veteran and I swear I NEVER knew that these guys existed as a separate unit from SEALS. I never thought when I saw SEALS extracted in small boats that they were SEALS who did that. Holy smokes these guys are badass and need more attention and spotlight on who, what and why they do what they do. I was an operations specialist so there was no reason for me to hang out with these badasses because I wasn’t tough enough or cool enough. I want to see more of how both work together because I am hooked and fascinated with these guys! So much respect gentlemen!

I am disappointed that all the training changed. In the Fall 0f 1989, I was accepted and GRADUATED from CSAR - In Cornado - We were trained by mostly SEALS and a Few UDTs. We did Float (Pool) Rescue, Float Swim, OpenWater Surf and OpenWater Rescue, Small Craft handling, Small Arms, Fast Ropes, Repell, Rescue Craft, Were Certified as EMT/Paramedics (Basic HMC) and A LOT OF BEACH RUNS, Obstacle Course AND Pacific Ocean Swims! There were a number of times we were dropped offshore and had to swim back to the beach. Looking at the New SAR they have broken out everything except Float Operations and basic Rescue.... Why?
