As I finished this story, an episode of the original Twilight Zone came to mind: “The Changing of the Guard” Every instructor must deal with his or her own obsolescence as the student acquires the skills necessary to stand on their own. And many instructors are not so lucky as Ben; they are never quite sure if they’ve succeeded in their task. Well done.
