Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. I live in the US, in northern Minnesota. I have been lamenting the passing of favorable camping weather. You have inspired me to get out there and enjoy the late Autumn weather before it really gets too cold. Thanks again, and keep the wonderful videos coming. Happy travels to you both!

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it's definitely worth getting out in the Autumn weather, there's an old saying that goes 'theres no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes' which is almost true! The 5 minutes it takes to get into bed, and the 5 minutes it takes to get out of bed are the worst I find, all the best and safe travels!

Very happy that I stumbled upon this series. I am moving from the United States to Germany in August, and was skeptical that it would be worth it to bring my 4Runner (Hilux Surf) and rooftop tent to Europe. This series has proven that there is abundant overland travel opportunities all over. Can't wait to see for myself very soon!
@Adventure-Outdoors5 жыл бұрын
Cheers Kyle! It might take a bit more effort to find wilderness here in Europe compared to the USA but it’s out there. Germany is a good place to be, you’ll have north, east, west and Southern Europe to explore 👍.

People like you two thrive off the "allemansrätten"-law here in Sweden and its amazing to see how people are using it to explore. To us, the older population of Sweden, the Allemansrätten-law is like the constitution to americans. Hopefully the younger population looks at it the same way, something to be proud over and let others take advantage of for both mental happiness and stimulation for the body. I know this is 2 years ago but during these Corona times, i do think its more important now then ever to do something to remove yourself from the mentally challenge we face by being locked up at home. Stay safe.
@Adventure-Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Nesta! Yes the allemanstratten law is great; definitely something worth protecting. I noticed how much the Swedes respect the outdoors; there was no mess or vandalism; the opposite of what happens here in the uk. I'm really looking forward to returning as soon as I can. All the best 👍

If I am not mistaken the waterfall is in Fulufjället National Park. I remember visiting that park about ten years ago with my future wife. We were doing a hike and we heard the call of the wolves in the far distance ... Unbelievable. We are going back there next summer with our kids. The water in some streams is brown due to high levels of iron in the ground. It's safe to drink.
@wat_joe_do21794 жыл бұрын
No. It's not from iron. It's from the moss it's been filtered through. Usually white moss. White moss functions as a cleaner, but gives the water that colour. If you put white moss and charcoal in a tube you built your self a water purification filter.

Love the idea of that getting away from the rat race with the Mrs, well I have to say that lol. your roof rack set up is interesting I've not yet seen a rack to suit that roof top tent to also attach the wrap round awning. let alone that top box. questions questions not even got the car yet lol. Any way guys enjoy this new adventure stay safe on those tracks and remember where you put the bear spray😉 cheers!
@Adventure-Outdoors6 жыл бұрын
Cheers Kevin! Thanks for commenting. My roof top set up is a right hash to be honest, the tent sits on the canopy on top of 2 frontrunner roof bars, but the awning is attached to 2 Thule bars which are bolted directly to the canopy rails, it's a right mess but it works OK Lol.

Cheers Graham! Yeah I'd definitely recommend the Cook Partner Stove, I've got the 22" version. It's big enough to get two frying pans on and it's built like a tank. I bought mine direct from the USA, the postage cost a bomb but it still worked out cheaper than what I could get it for in the UK. They're definitely an investment but they should last for decades.

@@Adventure-Outdoors In all honesty, no nothing for sure. I've considered a cold trip like this but always been a bit apprehensive as to how long I could fight the cold. Preparation is key with a trip like this. Unfortunately I'm not in the same boat as you and my wife has different interest to me (I love the solitude and peace, she happily spends time chatting with friends), so I travel alone in my vehicle but also travel in tandem with a friend with similar attitudes to me. If a trip does come into fruition it will more than likely be southern Portugal
@Adventure-Outdoors5 жыл бұрын
This trip did take a bit of extra thought that’s for sure! It was ok 95% of the time, just the mornings that were a bit of a struggle. It’s a shame your wife isn’t in to overlanding, although it’s thoroughly understandable; it’s not everyone’s idea of a holiday! Portugal sounds good.......guaranteed sunshine, cheap booze, great food, plenty of trails 👍.
