Good video Ben. I keep a cheap loo brush in one of the tubes and use that for the soot.

After a lot of searching on KZbin I have decided to essentially use your design but modify it minimally to cater for my kitchen items and a few staple pantry items. Thanks for the inspiration and sensible design approach. The wine glass cutouts are a definite inclusion!. Cheers.

Hello, is that amount of sut normal? I'm about to test my first hot tent this weekend and wasn't expecting this amount of build up after 1 night
@Adventure-Outdoors
@Adventure-Outdoors Күн бұрын
Hi, it's not typical but I was burning slightly damp softwood and to be fair the stove was burning in total for around 7-8 hours during the evening and morning. You won't get this amount if you use properly seasoned hard/soft wood. Even that amount of build up isn't really a problem as the stove was still drawing very strongly. Just have a quick check after each night, it's always better to be over cautious when using stoves in confined spaces, it only takes a few minutes to check and clean the flue. Happy camping! 👍

That material looks pretty thick so definitely not getting wet and from the inside didnt look like it was sagging at all. Sometimes the soot can be worse on the first burn apparently as it can stick to the inside of the new metal. I'm sure after a bit of a clean out it'll be fine. Cheers mate!

Getting a wafter as recommended by Ray Mears LOL. Video was chilled with a good bit of crack. Ill need to explore Dumfries and Galloway a bit more. Sadly, I think this bit of Scotland is overlooked for the more dramatic West Highlands or The Cairngorms. Inspiring as its not all about dramatic adventures, two guys enjoying each others company can be just as compelling. Might do a bit more filming myself. Keep the videos coming.👌👌

@@Campfirelore1 cheers! It’s a great area of Scotland, the folk are really friendly around there and the scenery is great. There are plans to turn the area into a National Park which will more than likely drive visitor numbers through the roof, so get out and explore it whilst it’s still relatively quiet 👍. ATB mate.

They're free shelters for hikers to stay in. They're usually old shepherd or servants quarters from around the 180's onwards. Most are in Scotland but some in Wales and Northern england too. If you search mountain bothy association then that gives a list of all of them. No electricity, water and sometimes no stoves either. But they're great places, usually quite remote but in beautiful landscapes.
