One day in September of 2019, at school, I was sitting in front of a piano, trying to figure out how to play Sweden. I remember watching a few videos explaining the song, and I remembered from them most of the chords. A bit of trial and error later, I had it mostly down. Meanwhile, I thought to myself, "Wow, these chords really remind me of synthwave/vaporwave music!". And so I had found it: The reason Sweden sounds so nostalgic is because it is written with the same types of chords and voicings as synthwave songs, to evoke the same emotions. Only recently, many months later, do I discover this masterpiece that combines the two in a way that oddly makes so much sense.

Once a pon a time when Fortnite was at its peak of popularity, I was that ‘weird’ kid that still played Minecraft, barely anyone was speaking about Minecraft or me, everyone was talking about battle pass, vbucks and skins, I was the one who still pvp’d in Minecraft. Yet out of nowhere, only 1 year later, Minecraft rose from its grave and beat Minecraft becoming the most popular game, and Fortnite was never heard from again.
