STEP BY STEP! Thermoplastic HotMix pedestrians road marking project in Stockholm-Sweden!
An astonishing and unbelievable road construction and maintenance project performed by EKC Sweden AB in Sweden. This project is a perfect example of hard working, responsibility, efforts, cooperation and teamwork!
A project to ensure kid's-, bicycle's, car's, and pedestrian's safety and security in traffic, performed by EKC Sweden AB in Sweden.
The company EKC Sweden was founded in 1996 and in its current form has existed in Sweden since 1999. Since the start in Sweden, the company has been a significant player in road marking in the Scandinavian countries.

Another astonishing and amazing road maintenance and traffic security project performed by Swedish company EKC Sverige AB.
These guys are amazing and perform a great teamwork everyday across the city in order to keep a high standard of traffic security.
Most of the projects starts after midnight or during vacation period so there are less traffic on roads.
To keep the roads and traffic secure is one of the most expensive
tasks for the tax payer in Sweden.
Date and location:
Published on September 30, 2017.
Project performed on 29 September 2017.
Location: Bergslagsvägen-(Vällingbyrondellen, around 30 min from downtown Stockholm).
Thermoplastic HotMix road marking project performed by Swedish company EKC Service AB www.ekc.se/
How much does it costs?
Each triangle mark costs 37 SEK and each meter of the HotMix thermoplastic material road marking lines cost 70 SEK (~$10)/ metres!
The material is supplied ready to use without the admixture of any other component.
ViaTherm and HotMix quickly hardens after application, thereby minimizing traffic disturbance.
In this project they used a new thermal material called HotMix.
Neither the organic pigments nor the other components of ViaTherm or HotMix thermoplastic road marking are harmful to the environment.

The (yellow boxes) at the end of each trucks are products made by the Belgium based company Stuer-Egghe (one of the world's market leader company for anti-crash in trafic so that a possible collision occurs smoothly).

Each arrows mark costs around 200 SEK ($18)! And each metres of the ViaTherm or HotMix thermoplastic material road marking lines costs around 70 SEK ($7) / Meter!

In my country Portugal, it would need like 5 machines, 20 people, cops to block the road, causing traffic nightmares, no working at night since is more expensive. Great job Sweden, 2 guys, 2 trucks and that is that simple!

In Bulgaria we do this with watercolors and just a handful of the reflective dust for the whole crosswalk. Guess how long it lasts lmao

Yes , to use such excellent quality for crosswalks that people "never use" is really not good, its the same mistake as to put diet protein powder into stores, just to see obese people walking by it! What a waste of time and money, the world is full of idiots, or not?

after 10 years in this field i can tell you that solvent paint is the most resistant of all on asphalt ! none of the products are actually guaranteed on period , they are usually guaranteed on tire passes exp 2 years (heat /cold /moist can deteriorate any paint or thermoplastic over a period of time )or a 100.000 tire passes

Well that "open minded, civilized great public system" will not last for very long... I give it another 5-8 years before reality catches up... We have got way too many non-productive welfare receivers and criminals the last 20 years. The taxes will need to be raised to keep up, and at the same time the incentive for productive people to pay taxes continues to decrease.

I assume that the preformed thermo sheets are cheaper to get un-reflectized, then apply your own reflective glass? rather than reflective thermoplastic. is it standard road grade glass?

i think they shudv start from right to left. since both of them are stepping to the left of the lines after each paint. would be for easier and comfortable and not having to be cautious of stepping on the previous lines.

He says it is a mixture of glass and sand in the video. It is probably for reflectivity and grip, since these marks get very slippery when wet.

Those are not arrows but triangles, they are sign that you need to give way, it's not pointing the direction you should go.

Believe me if I say more is needed, we need like Russia, white and yellow paint on the street and also a yellow reflex around the sign. Because the Swedes trust the drivers 100% and cross the street without hesitation, and because the night is so long and dark in the winters in Sweden. Like so someone can read this.
