A few years ago I had to go to Kista for a meeting with a customer. I had seen the snow on the forecast but I was so shocked at how quickly it fell. It was like a scene from Dr Zhivago.

I’m actually amazed at how good your English and Swedish is. I don’t think I could ever learn another language that well. I really enjoyed this video! I like getting all the different atmospheres from day to evening to different weather conditions etc. I like seeing inside the shopping centers/malls. It’s interesting to see what shops you have compared to where I live. Thanks for the walk! 😊

Thanks for taking us,the viewers out w u today! ~ It surprises me that it would turn dark rapidly after 4pm in winter in Scandivania when I was travelling there. Here, I go home from my work sometimes at night and it is still warm though it's rainy season :-( Got a little drenched today. Luckily had a pair of shoes to change into. Glad you enjoyed your walk! Liked the walking commentary.

Thanks for this nighttime walk. The name Midan probably relates to the Arabic word maidan which means square or open space. The word has also been adopted in its various forms in Turkey, Ukraine and Iran. Here in Istanbul Taksim Meydanı is known in English as Taksim Square.

Thanks a lot for reminding me that wonderful time I spent in Sweden in 2014🙏🏼 Especially for this very route that I was passing with some of my colleagues after a busy day. And it was also in late evening in November so it was really dark 🥰 but the lighting is really decent in this area 👌🏻 And we stayed in Scandic hotel in Sollentuna. We visited Kista only once but it seems like yesterday…

Isn't "koping" the same as Chipping in English, meaning market? It's almost pronounced the same. Thus, we have Cnipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Chipping Ongar etc.
@letswalkaroundstockholm3 жыл бұрын
Yes it means marketplace. The verb "köpa" means to buy in Swedish

I find this very interesting, if somebody can explain it please, I see in the Swedish words, that the suffix " tan " or " gatan " repeats often. I find these endings sounding like foreign influence from the Arab world, or Eastern confluences. The ending tan, or the ending gatan are not of Nordic, Germanic or purely Scandinavian sound. May be the result of trade with the East in very very remote times.
@letswalkaroundstockholm3 жыл бұрын
Gata means Street, gatan means the street thanks to the n in the end. So car is bil , the car bilen. So it can be en aswell amongst other variations. The origin is from the English word : gate which means opening.

As soon as you walked into the Kista Galleria it's like you were transported to a middle eastern country. I am not sure I saw a single ethnic Swede inside there. Just an observation. Where are the Swedes in this location of Sweden?
@letswalkaroundstockholm3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Kista is located in the middle of suburbs with many immigrants.
