In six minutes this video articulates a treatise worth of the healthy philosophical joy of experiencing nature on the edge. Decades ago I heard Ed Viesturs say “Sometimes the Mountains say no”. That ear mantra turned me back several times; at 70, all past ‘achievements’ collapse into amazing memories, satisfaction that I had the courage to journey and the good fortune to still be here. Admire the wisdom expressed Fredrick; happy adventuring to all!

Great video -- both inspiring and highly instructional for a guy in his 50s like me, who is stupid enough to want to hit the big mountains, but not until I gain the requisite skills. I learned a long time ago that smart beats tough, but both are even better, and in the videos in which I've seen you, you exhibit both toughness and smarts. Please keep posting these videos!

Awesome Fredrik, love the quote about living in fear and the people who never take any risks. Living live in survival instead of as it should be . . Alive! If you are every out in Colorado I would love the chance to climb with you. Heading to Pakistan this summer so would love to pick your brain about the Gasherbrums.

I admire your Aesthetics and your Intelligence, Fredrik! Enjoy your life and the nature! I guess you are the nice fellow who tried to rescue that unfortunate Serbian climber in 2008 disaster on K2. My compliments!

Helt fantastiska vyer!

Did you try to climb K2 after the tragedy in 2008 ?
@fredrikstrangadventurer7 жыл бұрын
No, I have not tried K2 after the tragic 2008 accidents. However, I went to G1 & G2 summits in 2010, 2011 to Nanga Parbat (no summit) and Broad Peak (no summit) in 2012. I hope to go back to beautiful Pakistan soon!

Du är en mycket klok klättrare och jag beundrar dig för att du kan ta kloka, svåra beslut. Det var det som räddade dig från tragedin på K2. Du är en stor förebild för alla klättrare.
