Well the "don't undress" thing quotes from their movie , and the final hysterical action is also a re-do of one of the movie's scenes. The whole video is just a joke, so guys don't be so serious...

For what it's worth, you were robbed. Force Majeure is one of the most exciting films I saw all year. Amongst filmmaker friends, we talk about it endlessly. It's beautiful, smart, observant, a complex balance of tones, and elegantly constructed. The only consolation is that the Oscars so often get it wrong, every year. So, welcome to the Hitchcock club. But Force Majeure WILL stand the test of time, Oscar nomination or not.

To expect fairness from hollyweird or the Oscar's is just dumb,I think we all know what to do get ahead in hollyweird dont pardon the pun, I mean that fish porn thing beat three billboards I rest my case.

People that think this is real obviously haven't seen the movie, which is a BRILLIANT deconstruction of masculinity. Hell, in the info above they even directly refer to "Worst Man Cry Ever" which, if you've read Ruben speak about KZbin in interviews, you'll understand immediately. This film really should have been nominated.

"Force Majeure" is such an incredible story about "Scandinavian" peoples characteristics, isolated relationships, issues and consequences but it's not global enough to win an oscar. It's definitely much better movie than "IDA" (the oscar winner) but it's just not universal enough for a foreign movie in oscar awards. "IDA" is incredible in cinematography and that's it. Well, you tell us a great story about human beings of Northern countries and you succeed very well, why would you care about stupid oscars. Oscars are reflection of American society and their perspective about the world. That's why they pick foreign movies that touches to their heart. Unfortunately, "Force Majeure" was way too strange to them. They don't get it and they don't care about it. Ruben Ostlund! Thank you for making a great movie. We are proud of you.

Horrendous snub. I've seen all the films nominated and this belongs amongst them. It's so powerful and moving, so original, so beautifully filmed. It deserved to win, hands down. -And not even nominated for Best Cinematography while Ida was? Give me a break. Hollywood politics has made the Oscars irrelevant.
@Balfour.9 жыл бұрын
So the Oscars have become irrelevant, but still you expected this film win the award. Yeah, it makes sense.

People call the Oscars "irrelevant" every year yet the same people tune in every year to see if their favorite films and performances got nominated LOL

For those who have watched 'Force Majeure,' the ending of this video kind of give away that they 'knew' it woudn't be nominated and decided to stage this as a form of... have fun, maybe? It looks too much like a scene of one of his films.

Don't worry guys ,the way the Academy chooses this specific category is a travesty. Akira Kurasawa's "RAN" didn't make the cut in 1984 ,it remains a masterpiece and a film classic to this day, so u r in good company.

Being snubbed from the Oscars is one thing but these guys DESERVED a nomination. The Lego Movie and Selma can continue in their own pace without awards publicity nd still be regarded but this is a foreign film and American audiences will not seek it out unless they hear about it. the film was so self important and boring, it is impossible to view the video as 'satire'... it is more sour grapes turned into lars von trier-ish gibberish... and the idea that they dare to snub 'ida'! the nerve.

@pinkpearl19679 жыл бұрын
This video sucks. The first four minutes are irrelevant, but we have watch these two chew and play with their hair during them. They both look scruffy, not exactly eye candy. And then the REAL action - the guy's meltdown - happens offscreen! This is not good filmmaking and it doesn't reflect well on them that they released this.
